The Dragonstar Sagas 2023 Comprehensive Article List
Here's a large article dump for everything that I wrote in 2023 for The Dragonstar Sagas. I've organized them by the contests and challenges. I began world-building this universe during Summer Camp. I'm surprised and happy with how many articles I was able to come up with in half a year. Writing on World Anvil has been fantastic for my mood and outlook. World-building is good for your mental health, people! <3
Summer Camp
This event got me out of my comfort zone a bit. I was nervous about posting and sharing articles at first. In fact, I didn't even use the Notify Followers button during the first few weeks of the challenge. I was worried folks might not like what I was coming up with and I knew that my articles weren't going to be perfect right out of the gate. I'm so glad that this event was fun. The community here at World Anvil turned out to be so positive. Your encouragement helped me to exceed my original goal for Gold and I earned the Diamond Badge instead!
Between Events
I was so excited after Summer Camp that I wrote a few more articles even though there was no event going on. I'm glad that I got these characters out of my head while they were on the forefront of my thoughts. At this point I was more comfortable notifying my followers about my articles and as a result these guys got more likes than most of my writings.
Treasured Companion
I was a little disappointed that I had published Asimov, Feline Android Companion, about a week before this contest was announced. It took most of the contest for me to come up with another concept for a character to submit for the event. I dreamed up Spite, The Demon Dog, during this event, but somehow I knew he would fit better into the upcoming Spooktober Event. In the end, Puddlefoot was created out of necessity and I am glad for it. I am not sure that he ever would have appeared in my story if not for the fact that I had to brainstorm another companion.
Spooktober
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. It was fun twisting some of these prompts to fit into my sci-fantasy world. I completed the minimum 13 articles for the badge. There were more article ideas listed in my challenge pledge article that I didn't get to during the event, but several of those have been completed later in the year.
World Ember Homework
I wrote a few articles in November while also working on the Homework assignments. Since there wasn't a major eveng going on, It was nice to be able to take my time creating the important heroines and villainess for my novel. This is also when I created my two Metro-style Maps for my novel's plot lines.
World Ember
For this challenge, I had great expectations for myself. I had envisioned a daily routine where I wrote before my shift at work and uploaded everything at the end of every week. In reality I had massive mandatory overtime, an insane commute, covid for two weeks, and critically low hemoglobin from my anemia going off the rails. In the end I was scrambling to meet the minimum 10,000 worlds before the month ended. In fact, I was still submitting articles during the World Anvil stream for the end of the event. It was a relief to finish!
amazing work this year!! <3
wait, LAST year! :O
Thanks, Mochi! I am shocked that I have written 57 articles since summer.
