Vanaheim
Vanaheim is one of the Nine Realms and exists on the highest level of Yggdrasill along with Asgard and Alfheim.
It is inhabited by the Vanir, a distinct ethnic group of Asgardians descended from the followers of Njord, who led an expidition to the planet shortly after the founding of Asgard. As well as the Vanir, the planet is also home to Trolls, Mountain Giants, and Ogres.
Vanaheim is a monarchy, ruled by the King of Vanaheim. Although it is part of the Asgardian Empire, it entered the Empire as part of a treaty at the end of the Aesir-Vanir War, rather than being conquered, and as such it retains a high degree of independance compared to the other client Realms. It is represented at the Congress of Realms by two Vanir congressmen, Baldr and Hogun.
Geography
The realm is filled with vast forests, fields and planes. The realm is also filled with the ruins of gigantic, mountain-sized castles and citadels, known as the "ruins of Vanaheim" or "abandoned cities of the Vanir".
