The small town of Seowyn's Crossing faced the might of the Gristamere army, and, with the aid of allies, turned them back.

In the later years of the Second Witching War, the Human kingdom of Summerlund's attention was divided on many fronts. While the armies of the Witch-Queen and the Orcish Hordes were occupying the King’s attention, the armies of Gristamere Overview made a series of offensives into Summerlund’s north. They razed the fortress of Hallowir's Watch, traditional stronghold of the Baron of Silver Falls. As the surviving soldiers retreated to the nearby town of Seowyn's Crossing, the gGoblinoid forces followed, expecting to annex a large section of Summerlund for Gristamere. To their surprise, they met resistance. The soldiers, joined by the militia of Seowyn’s Crossing, a party of Elves from Faerinwold, a squad of Halfling irregulars from Dalenshire, and a few surviving Wizards from the ruined Universitas Magesterium, struck back, harrying the goblin forces. Ultimately, the Gristameri forces were routed, and they were chased back north of Hallowiir’s Watch, where forces from Estwald joined the ragtag group and helped them drive the goblins back to the borders of Gristamere. Construction of the Summerwall and a new fortress for the Baron of Silver Falls, called Road's End, began soon thereafter.   The Battle of Seowyn’s Crossing is considered one of the last times the power of uniting the Seven Kingdoms was truly shown. The town of Seowyn’s Crossing remains, despite its smallish size, a crossroads for travelers who still honor the Seven Kingdoms’ name.
