Drenkrirz Hillsides
Consisting of open, hilled plains and pockets of forests, the Drenkrirz Hillsides is a calmer than the Junkirman'jri jungle that borders it to the south. Though it is peaceful at first glance, the region often proves deceptive as any experienced traveller can tell. The region is as much at the mercy of the elements as most of southern Ikune is.
The region is host to scattered settlements that generally rests between the hills where they are protected against the elements. The soil is however poorer in the open parts outside the forested pockets, necessitating many of the settlements to thrive on other trades than growing crops, though it is possible with dedicating to grow enough to sustain a given settlement. Instead many have found the region to suit itself well to livestock, who can live on what grows out there and are better suited for the large open terrain that can be found.
The pockets of forests is another matter, as the plants grows well around the fertile land. A traveller will often be able to find berries and other plants to forage from within these pockets and most tend to be large enough to hunt within, being a host to an amount of critters.
The region is also host to a set of small mountains surrounding the Blessed Lake, a holy spring fed by the rivers trickling down from the mountains and it is rumored that the gathered power within it plays host to powerful spirits. It is here the most holy rites of Drissau are carried out, with a temple dedicated to it extending out to the lake itself.
