Kecroshto Forests
Consisting of two enormous forests, Kecroshto makes up a large section of the Imperial core's borders. Much of the Empire's wood comes from these forests which has caused a large logging industry to appear around the Empire's golden age, a fact that has been rumored to have a hand in the Empire's fall due to angering the natural balance of the world, but scholars dismiss this as nothing more than speculation without evidence.
The forests themselves can take days to traverse and villages have been established deep within them, which sometimes don't see travellers much outside the yearly markets and tax collectors. Despite this, a network of roads goes through the forests to connect the various villages, outposts and other official locations within them and outside of them, with most of these still being maintained well enough for travel even as the empire declines further.
