continued: 24th of Irawish
Liya finds us again, after having spent a short holiday on the beach at the ship with Vida.
As we continued to explore the temple after our little teleport adventure we found quite some interesting items:
some gold
a coral crown
health potions (they were in wooden flasks so we call them 'coconut potions')
drift globe
a gryphon saddle
a manual
a lute
a lyre
a viol
a crossbow with about a 100 bolts
salt
bottles
(Liya can play the lyre. )
Before we got the rest of the temple, we came past some interesting creatures. Thalmiir talks to them, (well tries to understand them using his hat of language comprehension) but the only thing that becomes clear is the fact that they are hungry.
Unsure of what to do we give them some meat, but they seem to only eat coins. So we throw them some and try to get past. There is a door, engraved with a face surrounded by tentacles, and it opens up to the amulet that we found earlier (not entirely sure if I wrote about it earlier, but it is a sort of coin with two clashing waves) with a bit of a hassle, we got past the monsters
The keys we found earlier come in handy in the next room we entered, where several chests are present.
In the chests we find many more items:
Liya opens a chest and finds 150 gp
Another chest contains candles and 3 empty tomes
Copper opens a blue chest with claw marks and finds a pristine wedding dress
I open a chest which contains four flasks with an orange liquid inside (turns out to be alchemists fire) and a set of alchemists supplies
Thalmiir finds a suit of scale mail and a helmet with a fish engraving
Erky finds a fancy hourglass with shiny sand
William got a chest containing 50 bottles of perfume (it smells fruity)
Thalmiir finally tries to open the one chest we did not have a key for and finds 200 gp and a small trinket of an anchor and a feather.
We also opened one chest together, in which we found ink, feathers and journals.
As i wanted to exit the room through the other door, i nearly got squashed between two walls that slammed together. With a little bit of magic dispelling we safely got through the door and arrived back at the place where we initially got teleported, with Mudcraw waiting for us.
Together we try to find our way out of the temple. As we enter one of the rooms that lead to the garden on the outside of the temple Copper accidentally wakes a bunch of small undead. During the battle he also summons fiends? (i am frankly quite confused and a bit concerned but it looked very cool)
The garden is very overgrown but beautiful in its own way. After a short moment of appreciating the sight, Thalmiir suggests that we find another route out, past the coin eating creatures, as he claims to have seen another door. Having no reason not to, we follow, quite exhausted from all the traps and fights behind the doors.
As we get back to the coin eaters, they seem to have become a bit more, 'direct' trying to directly take our money. This rubbed Copper the wrong way and he started to fight them. Trying to get us past without much more of a fight, I try to scare them away with a spell to scare them away so that we can safely get through.
The door Thalmiir had seen does lead us outside. Ugo, the mask-man is waiting for us. He joins us and rides along on Copper's shoulder. As we walk back to the beach, we decide to take a small detour to the statue Mudcraw had told us about earlier. The statue is very imposing and looks like it has been partially made out of the rock we stand on. It looks out over the sea, where many sunken ships lie. (apparently, Liya had already been here) As Erky and Thalmiir decide to identify the statue, they both get one word, [NOT] and [MAGICAL]. This causes a lot of confusion but after a laugh, we decide to return to Vida and his ship.
