Who is this person and why are they adventuring?

Nimueh was the 2nd child of the baron of the small city Mercia near Jordberg. She has an older sister and a younger brother, and she has a particularly good relationship with the latter. Both he and Nimueh were curious, playing in the forests and looking for what they then called 'adventure'.
As she got older, Nimueh, like her sister started studying more. Not having the magical talent of her sister she decided to go for history and law. Next to her studies she still hanged out a lot with her brother, going on walks and playing music together.
At one point in time, the younger brother was taken hostage by a group of local criminals. Nimueh, who was there to witness the snatching was unable to do much, not being very physically strong nor magically gifted. During the time of the negotiations to get him back, she thought a lot about this injustice and prayed for her brother to be protected and brought home safe.
During this time is when her patron, The Bard, sought contact. Without Nimueh having much knowledge about it, she got a deal from the bard, where she received powers and her brother was returned home safely. Not knowing why or how she got this power, she told her parents that she was going to travel to study and to experience the different cultures. Her sister, however, sensed something was up and tried to confront Nimueh about the lie she had seen through, but had already left.
And so she started her journey confused and trying to figure out, how to get rid of the "gift" she had gotten.
On her travels, she became very distant and detached from all, tested and tried her powers on the outskirts of the villages and in the forests she wandered through until she eventually ended up in Baferton and met a group of adventurers who were all looking for their own answers.
