Michael and Sparkos are working on a new arm for Bo. They'll make it out of mithril and they say it'll be just like the old one with claws and all. Of course everything has a price. 750gp for a new arm, a miracle that I thought only the gods were able to provide.
We did ask the gods for that miracle. Judging by the large temple district here, the people of Vulcrom are very religious. At least the clergy seems to have plenty of funds to build all these temples. And now I know how.
I expected Waukeen to ask for money for the services of her priests. Her clerics are business minded. They work for money, trade blessings for gold, profit to further Waukeen's power. I would do the same. Everything has a price. They did ask for money, 900gp to be exact, I would have been willing to pay it.
I did not expect the other gods to ask for tasks that seem impossible. Shouldn't the god of light and healing heal for the sake of healing?
Either the gods are more like people than I thought or this has nothing to do with the gods. Maybe this is just the work of the priests. It seems wrong to have to prove devotion to all gods, evil gods, and that they would all work together. Surely one god has the power to regenerate an arm.
Waukeen has not yet asked me for anything in return for her magic. I ask for guidance and she gives it, I ask for healing and her light heals whoever I choose, I ask for truth and she brings knowledge. I don't know what her goal is with me. She is the last one I would expect to give without getting something in return but she is the only one that does.
In the end, technology was easier to aquire than a gods miracle. And cheaper, too.
