The SHIT Race

Yesterday, I finally arrived in Épibeuge. I had expected many people to want to take part in this race but there were more than I imagined. Luckily, I managed to get the last ship together with two other people.
Honestly, I'm trying to be optimistic but the situation is less than ideal. Bo, a tabaxi, is a nervous wreck most of the time and scared of water. No idea why someone like that would want to cross the ocean. Also, he's a pickpocket but who am I to judge. Grim, a kenku with a pet dog, is just weird. He speaks to spirits but at least he can do magic and will hopefully be quite useful. I'll have to work together with these people for the next few months and it's not going to be easy but I need them. Alone I would have no chance to win this race.
The second thing is the boat, the Tortoise. Holes, the mast seems like it might just break by looking at it and I wouldn't call the thing it has a sail. Had to spend most of the money I had left on materials for fixing the boat and getting it in a dock. Really, these people don't have any funds to speak of. Got a deal with Ankita from the circus to transport a robot to Vulcrom to get it fixed.
Staying in the Nervous Egg Inn for now until the race starts in a week.

This day might be even weirder than yesterday. We were checking on the delivered supplies and were attacked by bandits or pirates? No security in this city apparently. My companions can defend themselves in a fight so that's good to know. The robot woke up (not sure if that is the right word here). He fought the bandits with us but some managed to steal some of our supplies. We'll have to get those back and I'll have to think about what to do with this robot. The money recieved for his transport is already spend.
