Falamin Leabrace

Halfling Mayor

"Seems like our town’s troubles aren’t necessarily done."
Falamin Leabrace is the halfling mayor who appears in Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 1 and Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 2. He is an NPC played by M.B.   He is the current mayor of Bridon Tillage and is the son of the town's founder, Bridon Leabrace.

Description

Appearance

Falamin is a very old halfling man over 150 years old. He has frizzy and blading gray hair, and his face shows his advanced age. He has a perpetual scowl and is bent in the back. He wears simple yet nice tailored clothes consisting of a blue and yellow tabard and plain slacks. He uses a walking stick cane, which is finely crafted from a single piece of wood. The cane comes to three points at the bottom, which provides extra stability.

Personality

Falamin is crotchety and seems set in his ways. He is unperturbed by most things. He seems to have a sense of duty about his position as mayor, though his crotchety nature seems to show these duties as an annoyance at times. This was seen when a villager attendant to his household was killed; Falamin’s reaction to the death seemed more like annoyance than grief. That said, he does take to his duties, including managing changes and threats to the village.

Biography

Background

Falamin Leabrace was born the son of the founder of Bridon Tillage, Bridon Leabrace. He was born in the village and lived in the Leabrace Homestead his whole life.   After his father's death, Falamin became the next mayor of Bridon Tillage. As part of his governing, a large palisade barrier was constructed around the village to better protect the isolated settlement from threats. This would become known as Falamin's Fence.

Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 1

After festivities on the Harvest Home holiday, on 23 Sedaena 5A 351, the rogue magics of an aberration-controlled Releg Cirin created animated turnips which started causing chaos in Bridon Tillage. During a battle involving these creatures and the Turnip Tillers, a villager was killed outside the Leabrace Homestead.   In the aftermath, Falamin came out of his homestead at the commotion where he saw the body of the dead villager. The man had been an attendant to the homestead, and Falamin was sorry to see him killed.   After the group quickly filled him in, Falamin demanded that Releg stay in town to fix the mess he was inadvertently involved with. When Tanya Applebough took the blame on herself, Falamin reassured her, saying she did all she could.   Falamin then offered to compensate the group if they stuck around and helped repair the damage, and the party agreed to stay and help.

Azimuth Anthology: Alarming Farming Festival 2

Over the next days, Falamin noted that Releg assisted around town. He was helpful with the townsfolk adjusting to the newly animated turnips and with mitigating some of the continuing tremors around Bridon Tillage.   On 25 Sedaena 5A 351, Falamin and Releg met with the Turnip Tillers and Theryn, a mercenary Falamin hired. Falamin said the continued tremors and emerging creatures from the sinkhole were a threat to the town, and he asked the group to venture into the sinkhole and find the source of the tremors. He also said he needed Releg to remain behind to help mitigate the damage using his magic.   Later, once the group returned, they shared information about the Underdark tunnels and the gateway that had appeared at the Fungal Nursery. After Theryn told Falamin about the group being affected by strange spores, Falamin gingerly poked Borga Gorehide with his cane before deciding she was fine.   Falamin asked the group to report the events to a dragonborn in nearby Porgorag, as he felt compelled to let someone in the faith know about this planar portal. When Tanya also said she would do her best to find a rumored orc druid to further help the town, he agreed that would be in the town’s interest.   Falamin paid Theryn for his services and said he wanted to hire him again if he’d be willing to travel with the Turnip Tillers, which Theryn agreed to do. The next day, on 26 Sedaena 5A 351, the Turnip Tillers set out along the Belltree Road.
