One of the
The Sentinels of Terrania ; the greatest heroes of our time. Estmyra and her compatriots were heavily responsible in defeating
Pyrhem Wrathbringer and
Ancalmo ending
Pyrhem's Calamity . She also became a key figure during the
Invasion of the Mountain King in Northern
Heleninum .
BACKSTORY
Estmyra was born in Knosis,
Heleninum where she spent most of her childhood. At a young age she showed an incredibly natural grasp of the arcane. As result she was placed in the
The Academy of Arcanium annex in Knosis. Very quickly she proved to be an exceptional student and scholar. It did not take her long to push through the ranks and eventually earned a posting at the Arcanium main campus in Eridenne. There she became an important confidant and close friend Arch-Provost
Valorie Boldwinter .
The Pyrhem Calamity
When Valorie left to ensure the campus's evacuation to Jergencrest was moving along, she left Estmyra in charge of Eridenne. When Valorie returned, she asked Esymyra to stay behind with her, and help figure out the methods and dark magic behind the Bloodhorde.
When
General Jermil Keshlonga brought forth his Sentinels, Valorie and Estmyra agreed she should join them as they needed someone with a mastery of the arcane with them in the field. It proved to be an important decision, as it was Estmyra that realized the function of the Malar Corrupters and figured out how to deconstruct and disable the artifacts.
After the Calamity, Estmyra returned to main campus in Jergencreast. Upon learning of the
Invasion of the Mountain King , she persuaded Valorie to send her to Heleninum on behalf of the Arcanium and investigate the Mountain King. Valorie at first resisted, as she did not want to lose her most trusted confidant again but relented once she realized Estmyra was the only one with the experience and acumen for the endeavor.
Invasion of the Mountain King
Sent to Tyronopolis on behalf of the Arcanium, Estmyra had a front row seat to the revealing of what was reportedly happening within the
The Agrios Agnosto . Perplexed by the
Heleninum Imperial Chamber's ambivalence to the situation, she sought out more information. She eventually caught wind of
Perithes's ambition to investigate the claim and tracked him down on his way to Nevma. She told him of her connection to the Arcanium, and wanted to support his expedition. He agreed and they continued on. Eventually, they meet up with
Kronli Oathsworn whom Estmyra was surprised to see. She convinced Perithes of Kronli's capabilities and therefore Kronli joined. When
Alethia; Herald of Remiel appeared to them, she quickly surmised the true power and potential the young woman possessed inside her. Estmyra knew the lady would be a vital ally for them and their trek into the unknown.
After obtaining the first of
The Corrupted Relics of Remiel, Estmyra, using Alethia's divine powers, was able to harness the energy within the artifact. In doing so, all the related relics pinged, revealing tentative locations. It also unveiled their presence to the
The Mountain King .
During the final battle, Estmyra was at Alethia's side during much of the conflict. When Alethia made it clear she meant to don the artifacts, Estmyra pleaded with her not too as she knew the how deep and dark the corruption was in those artifacts. She also knew that if Alethia did defeat The Mountain King, and became corrupted, it was certain doom for Terrania. But Alethia's resolve was insurmountable, so Estmyra reluctantly relented, and prepared for the worst. She witnessed Alethia's slaying of the Mountain King, but immediately realized Alethia's corruption. She grabbed Kronli and raced forward in an attempt to subdue Alethia. But the corruption was too strong, Alethia effortlessly brushed them aside. Luckily,
Archangel Remiel appeared and ended the threat.
The Duskmorne Conspiracy
Estmyra played a key role for the Arcanium during Uriel Duskmorne's attempted
usurping of the Academy. She was supposedly (according to Theo Hardie) the main contact for the
The Pranathe Three during the
The Trail of the Twelve. Using the information gathered during that event, she and Valorie were able to uncover and apprehend the Duskmorne supporters embedded within the Academy.
Disappearance
Estmyra returned to the Arcanium at Jergencrest and continued her work. Her new focus became portals, and their effect on time and space. One night she disappeared from reality. At the time she was alone in her laboratory, therefore no one saw what happened. All of her work went missing as well. Perplexed, the Arcanium officially labeled her as lost. To this day nobody has seen or heard from Estmyra. Many theorize she was the manifestation of
Mystra, and after helping guide Terrania through two of its bleakest periods, returned to her realm. While others think she was absorbed into a portal of her own creation, and thusly lost forever.
