Gilneas

Gilneas is a kingdom located on the continent of Azeroth, specifically on the western coast of the continent of Lordaeron. It is known for its walled city and its isolationist policies. Prior to the Third War, Gilneas was a prosperous nation ruled by King Genn Greymane. However, following the outbreak of the Worgen Curse and the subsequent invasion of the Forsaken, the kingdom fell into ruin and was abandoned by its citizens.   The Worgen Curse, which turned many of Gilneas' citizens into worgen, was caused by a curse transmitted by the feral Scythe of Elune. The curse could be spread by bites or scratches from infected worgen, and those who contracted it would transform into the wolf-like creatures at night.   After the fall of Gilneas, the kingdom was partially reclaimed by the Gilnean Liberation Front, a rebel group led by Genn Greymane's son, Prince Liam Greymane. The Gilneans also joined the Alliance, fighting alongside their allies against the Horde during the Fourth War. In the aftermath of the war, the Alliance helped Gilneas rebuild and reclaim more of its territory, though the kingdom remains somewhat isolated from the rest of the world.
