Personal history

20th Samarjeń 226 5E   Sarlaren is born.   After spending a large amount of his life in contact with the criminal underworld of the Mastorian Empire, Sarlaren eventually relocates to the city of Arkeluw where he takes up a position as a guide working on behalf of the Cliff's View Hotel.   7th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Sarlaren is employed to act as a tour guide for Anpu Winkybits, Ackio, and Neya. He takes them around the city of Arkeluw and watches as a thief runs through the streets of the city, only to be captured and killed by a Wayfarer named Yahn.   In spite of his actions, Yahn faces no consequences from the guards, and he accompanies the party to go for a drink on the dockyards. As they are drinking together they witness a meteor fall from the sky and crash into the city.   The group rush to the crater of the meteor and find multiple buildings on fire and a cult called the Crimson Dawn attempting to kidnap a Dwarf who climbed from the wreckage of the meteor. Some in the party fight the cultists and work to protect the Dwarf whilst others try to save civilians from the inferno, Sarlaren meanwhile takes the time to try and loot the houses, and is almost choked by smoke in the process. Fortunately, Ackio is able to save him and pull him from the flames.   The feud ends in chaos, with the Dwarf named Kid Rick having been killed in the combat, one of the cultists imprisoned by the Orekun, two more killed in the fighting, and more civilians lost to the inferno. The Tagaran Neya likewise was lost as some strange Demonic portal was torn open and he was dragged inside.    8th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Keen to investigate the Crimson Dawn, Yahn and Anpu Winkybits convince Sarlaren to take them to Bram Brazmluw, the fortress of the Mastorian Armed Forces and the location of the Deep, a mass prison that exists within the hill of Brazm Mot.   When they arrive they go to speak to the Crimson Dawn cultist and make a deal that he might give them information if they help him get free. Despite Sarlaren's protests, the party lead an escape which spirals into a prison riot.   Sarlaren joins the party and is with them when they are compelled into surrender by Captain Symon Storme of the Branek Arkenank Household Guard. He is taken to the Castle and made to stay there until he can stand trial for his part in the conspiracy.   10th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Anpu Winkybits, Ackio, Cowabunga Peppermill, Yahn, Sarlaren, Ludo, and Kostantin Tique are all made to face a Tribunal, comprising of Iona Arkenank, Captain Symon Storme, and Artur Nazar. Whilst Cowabunga Peppermill is found innocent, the rest are sentenced to death.   That night, the group are brought before Lady Iona Arkenank, who offers to spare their lives if they devote their lives to serving her. She requests that they work for her and continue their investigation into the Crimson Dawn cult. Sarlaren agrees and is branded as a criminal guilty of the highest crimes. In order to ensure their obedience, Lady Iona Arkenank keeps Ackio and Ludo as hostages.   11th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Over the next few days, the group continue their investigation of the Crimson Dawn, thwarting their attempt to kidnap a professor named Glemori. They learn that the cult might be taking interest in the ancient lost Dwarven city of Fungasuf. They also take time to explore the Red Market, where Sarlaren is clearly in his element and well acquianted with the various questionable merchants.   In this time they meet a Gnome called Pallof Gimgy, who reveals that he has made a home for himself in the remains of a house destroyed by the meteor. This place becomes known as Pallof's Crater, and becomes a base of operations for the group.   The group gradually grows ever more distrustful of Sarlaren and seem to largely dislike him, only Anpu Winkybits treats him with any amount of respect.   18th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Sarlaren is initially sceptical and suspicious when Anpu Winkybits returns to Pallof's Crater with her friend Feta Coffeebean, who survived the incident at Mulkwast Manor. The rest of the group shout him down and are more intent that he should leave than her. Sarlaren watches and places bets when Ino, Yahn, and Pallof Gimgy fight in the Red Market Arena. Yahn, Ino and Pallof are ambushed however, and Sarlaren is horrified when in order to protect them, Feta Coffeebean jumps into the arena and tears out a thug's throat and drinks his blood, revealing herself to be a Vampire. Later, Sarlaren speaks with his contacts and discovers that the thugs were attempting to kill his friends in order to collect on a bounty placed on them by Broadne Tique, who blames them for the death of his son Kostantin Tique.   19th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Feeling sympathy for Feta Coffeebean, Sarlaren agrees to help her and puts her in contact with an individual he has only heard of named Dymitri. The Red Market trader offers her a cellar full of slaves on which to feed, but Feta is so horrified that both she and Sarlaren flee back into the city. Both agree never to speak of it again and Sarlaren is visibly shaken by what he has seen.   20th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   Sarlaren attends the funeral of Kostantin Tique. Following the service, Broadne Tique approaches him and Anpu Winkybits and reveals that bounty hunters are attacking Pallof's Crater at that very moment. The two rush back to their home and rush to aide their friends, but Sarlaren is pinned down by crossbow fire and Anpu Winkybits is knocked unconscious. All looks lost when Broadne Tique arrives to try and save them, allowing the group time to rally and fight back against their attackers.   27th Skrabarjeń 269 5E   A rockslide opens the prison known as the Deep and sends a swarm of Bauk into the streets of Arkeluw, spreading chaos throughout the city. Many prisoners escape in the aftermath. When Anpu Winkybits decides to follow the instructions of her patron Marani and depart Arkeluw, Sarlaren decides to go with her.   1st Spriarjeń 269 5E   Sarlaren and Anpu Winkybits arrive in the city of Yaszaw and board the Mamnomaga, booking tickets to travel from Yaszaw to Dianaw, intending to make their way to the capital city of Istanbrakt.
