Today was... a mixed day. We searched the Library and found...most of the books, with the library in a state of chaos and one of the books turned to groaning pulp for a wasps' nest. Even worse, I had more trouble with Fairies. Listening to them, they seemed more... mischievous than actively malevolent, so I wasn't expecting them to go for the kill. I didn't make the mistake of trying to reason with them this time, but I tried to knock them out rather than kill them, and in the pursuit of that I got ruin pretty badly hurt. I'm holding up better than after last time, but obviously I feel guilty, and I'm not sure if Ruin still trusts me, but I think I managed to lessen her anger by helping out against the next wave of bugs, still I owe her an explanation and an apology. I was too frustrated to apologise in the moment.
It wasn't all frustration and anger, though; I managed to chat a little with the others as they searched, apparently Ruin has *always* had pyromancy manifestations, she didn't learn that from the druids, and Malnar has some form of ancestral fire magic, which he seemed to talk about like it was very normal. Illiara impressed me immensely when she told me her wizarding knowledge was self taught up till now, I mean ive tried learing the arcane at home, and even with my mother's help it never really translated into actual spellcraft. Didn't learn any wizard spells properly before the magambyaa. I don't know if I've ever heard of anyone attaining that level arcane power completely via self taught studies. I've got to pick her brain more one day.
Managed to pick Malnar's over the bloodsalt books though, it turns out we are actually quite alike in some ways, which was nice to find out. I got to talk community and religion with him, which I think we both enjoyed. I think I'm gonna find some time next week to research some of what he told me, maybe about his home, or maybe the goddess or the kami. But I don't want it to eat into study time, so I'll try to work it in elsewhere. As for the bloodsalt books themselves, Well I'm definately marking that down as an area to visit in the future...carefully, after considerable preperation.
