Gods

What is a god? In Anacra, a god can be the spirit of a single tree outside your village. It can be a fundamental force of creation as old as time itself. It can be a blood-drinking mass of proboscises from beyond the stars the size of a small mountain. Or it can be an ancestral hero of your tribe.   The Four Kingdoms are filled with gods, greater and lesser, a thousand upon a thousand in every rock tree and tribe. But for the purposes of Scholars, here is a basic assessment of the Gods of Anacra.

Elemental Gods

Most well known and significant, by most standards, are the Elemental Deities. These entities govern the very matter and energy that makes up the Four Kingdoms. They are exceedingly important.

Elemental Sovereign

The primordial "gods" of creation. Among the most powerful entities in Anacra, the Sovereigns literally are the elements. They have existed since the Long Night ended and Anacra began. They are responsible for regulating the flow of elements and physical reality itself.
  • Erecura, Sovereign of Stone
  • Li-Ban, Sovereign of the Seas
  • Sin, Sovereign of FIre
  • Vindur, Sovereign of the Skies

Elemental Titans

Direct offspring of the Sovereigns and the second order of Elemental Gods, the Titans are powerful deities that take a more direct role in the affairs of the Four Kingdoms than their progenitors.   The city-states of the Priest Kings are each dedicated to the worship of a different Titan.

Primal Gods & Archfey

Spirits and deities of beasts, plants, and locations often dwell in the Otherworld. Every culture in Anacra has local primal gods with whom they must coexist.

Archfey

In some places of the world, the spirits of flora and fauna are called the Fey . Mercurial and immortal, many fey divide themselves into Seelie and Unseelie courts. Others are wild, claiming no social relations but their immediate neighbors and their hunting prey.

Seelie Fey

Unseelie Fey

Wild Fey

  • Nuinn, the Man with Roots For Boots
  • Morco, the Great Bear
  • Cloigeann, the Old Skull

Primal Spirits

Though they dwell in the Otherworld and share many properties in common with faeries, not all indigenous spirits are part of the fey.
  • Killidar Cloudmane, The Great Horse
  • Nari the Ox

Infernals

Also called the Cruel Gods, the Infernals are a group of powerful entities who invaded Anacra during the Dawn World. Believed to be a loose coalition of wildly different Fiends, they are considered a single category more due to their allegiance than any similarity in their nature.

Cosmic Entities

Mysterious beings from beyond the Hungry Dark, forces of nature barely conceivable by mortals, and deities that just don't fit well into the other categories.
  • The Laughing God: The Nameless Power, Fortune's Father, Lady Luck, First and Foremost. A primal god worshipped by anyone who rolls dice.
  • The One Flesh: At the time of Ioth Academy, this is nothing but a mental shadow in the minds of the psychically sensitve. It has yet to arrive.
  • The Scribes: Keepers of the Emerald Tablets
