Styx

Styx was built by the greatest minds of the Zlathan and Zym hegemony long before the age of silence. Constructed as a gift for the powerful alliance that once held Terminus and Pacifica in bond. Styx was constructed in a system neighboring Medina, and intended as a palce fit for the greatest among them.
When the Age of Silence broke apart the various allied Zlathan governments split as well, and Styx soon found itself isolated alongside Medina.
When the Mechanicus Jihad began to spread among the Mid Rim, the gate that connected the two systems shut down, isolating the ring alone. Medina soon deployed a fleet of liferafts; ships packed with supplies and driven by drone constructs. These ships without a gate would take decades to reach the ring, if they ever reached it in the first place.
However, it only took several years before Styx drew a bargain with the demon constructs to grant them emancipation early on. Styx became the first polity outside of Sovereign Space to elevate demons on par with people, labeling them Not-human Persons, or NHPs. When they re-opened the gate, they helped broker a peace on Medina, forming what would become the Alliance of United Stars.
