Terra Caelum
Terra Caelum is the main continent situated in the centre of Mondum. Typically it is divided between east and west, with the Salt Mountains and Glacies Mountains dividing the landmass in two.
Geography
The geography of Terra Caelum is very varied as a result of its location on the planet as well as the raw magical energy that flows through it. Towards the southeast, there is a frigid tundra known as the Ice Kingdom, and towards the northwest, there is a coastal country known as the Sword Coast. Most of the continent itself are either flat grassland plains, forests, or mountains. There is one volcanic region known as the Ashlands, however, this was created as a result of the Collision.Post-Collision
It was only after the Collision that the Ashlands and Anauroch were created. A huge rift to the Nine Hells was what created the massive volcano, and rifts to the Elemental Chaos were the reason behind Anauroch and to an extent Thay to become deserts.Regions
The West
Breantis
Breantis is the peaceful halfling kingdom located on the northern coast of Terra Caelum. It happily accepts travelling folk and immigrants with open arms as long as they obey the fair laws of the Alliance.The Sword Coast
The Sword Coast is the northwestern hold located in Terra Caelum. As the name implies, it is a coastal region. The Sword Coast was once happily divided between orcs and other races, until the Gorgoth Clan ran all the other races out of the capital, Bronzemere. Bronzemere was destroyed and had not been repaired until it was freed from orcish control shortly before the Collision.The Western Plains
The Western Plains, once known as the Reynolds Kingdom, was founded and historically ruled by the noble house of Reynolds. The Reynolds lineage led the kingdom for centuries, since they were founded by Arthur Reynolds of Avalon in 6507. 8009 was the first year that someone who was not of Reynolds descent became the leader.Wild Woods
The Wild Woods hold comprises of a thick wide forest in north-western Terra Caelum. Mystical in nature, the forest naturally grows magical crystals and is home to the strangest creatures in all of the continent. The capital city is a large multilayered metropolis in a gigantic oak tree looming over the north end of the forest.The Highfields
The Highfields, once the Yerentil Kingdom, has been reduced to a humble kingdom containing the southern coast of Terra Caelum. Still ruled from the capital, the kingdom now prides itself on being humble; or at least, more humble than the previous administration.Free Peach
The Free Peach is the general kingdom ruling over central Terra Caelum, in particular, the Peach Valley between the Glacies and Salt Mountains. The country has a long history with tyrannical rulers, however, with the Alliance's democratic system, this is unlikely to be an issue now.The East
Midland Expanse
The Midland Expanse is a large plain leading into a massive valley that separates the Glacies and the Salt Mountains.Salzenstadt
Salzenstadt is the kingdom under the mountains; the domain of the mountain dwarves. Once a spiralling kingdom of underground settlements beneath the main city, it was primarily located under the Salt Mountains, However, with the mithril mines dried up, there are more settlements in the hills east of the mountains and the city itself has expanded into its own hub interconnected settlements. The layered city of Salzenstadt to this day is still where the large majority of people live.Thay
Thay is a mysterious and terribly powerful magocratic nation in east Terra Caelum, that is governed by the Zulkirs of the Red Wizards. It is ruled by the necromancer lich Szass Tam, along with the Council of Zulkirs, who are supported by a near-endless chain of bureaucrats and local leaders. The true nature of Thay lays in the endless pursuit of arcane knowledge and power by the country's elite. This driving force permeates the wasteland's dark history. The land itself was once part of the dwarven kingdom of Salzenstadt, and was a thriving area with rolling hills and an abundance of nature. However, since the Collision, the land has deteriorated, with the natural world decaying. Now it is a wasteland ruled by the Red Wizards, who saw the power vacuum and assumed control.Ashlands
The Ashlands is a large region west of the Rubygold Mountains. It was once a region of rolling hills, however is now a scorched land covered in a layer of ash, since the Collision.The Shadowed Vale
Once upon a time known as Barovia, the Shadowed Vale included the territory east of the Rubygold Mountains and south of the ruined Dragon Kingdom. It used to be ruled by House Dracula from the Shadow Citadel, but before it became the Shadowfell, Koko commanded the country in Castle Ravenloft.Nilfgaard
Nilfgaard is a region located along the northeast coast of Terra Caelum. It is home to the Nilfgaardian clans and to exiles of all kinds from other planes of existence.Uthgardt Wastes
The Uthgardt Wastes were once part of the Dragon Kingdom and are on the border of Nilfgaard. After the Collision, the land was deeply inflicted by chaos as otherworldly creatures tried to fight for control of the land. It ended with the victory of the natives, banishing the fiends back to the Nine Hells, however the Nilfgaardians were divided in opinion as many wished to become more civilised than simple barbarian folk. Those who chose not to remained in the Wastes, and became known as the Uthgardt for following the example of the ascending god Uthgar. The Wastes themselves are plains, with towns left pillaged and raided for all their goods while the Uthgardt left the people alive. The Wastes are home to a few dozen abandoned villages and townships.Anauroch
Anauroch, is a magical desert in north-eastern Terra Caelum. It holds the remnants of the once-powerful netherese empire of the Dragon Kingdom, ruled by the ancient Draco bloodline. However, since the Summer War, it has fallen to ruin. Since the Collision the ruins lie buried in sand, and in the years since, Anauroch has become a desert land that has encroached relentlessly on border nations. Dragons have found themselves at home in the deserted kingdom, almost out of irony for the Dragon Kingdom's fall. The only others to call Anauroch home are nomadic tribes of sand genasi and a small Zhentarim garrison.Ice Kingdom
The Ice Kingdom is a region located on the southeast of Terra Caelum. It is enchanted by the arcane relic of the elements to be in a constant state of winter. Prior to this, it was known as the ancient land of Ostoria, ruled by giants.
