Kallishandra Forest (kal-eh-SHAN-druh)
The great northern forest of Innismore Isle is one of the protected wildlands of the druids. They guard the deepest parts of the woods from any who might come too near, but generally ignore anyone else who might foolishly trek into the verdant green interior. Beasts roam within, many having grown far larger than most of their kind, owing to the magic and protection of the druids. Many hunters seek the trophies of these beasts, adventurers seek to explore unchartered expanses of wilderness and what secrets it may hide, and druids come to seek out these hidden places, commune with others of their beliefs, and gain knowledge.
History
Rumors and Tales:
• A yearly gathering of various druid circles occurs in this forest every year. Druids of all types and paths come together to discuss the health of nature, the status of their region and protecting area, and what problems they need to come together and solve. Grievances and disputes are also settled during this time though mediation or other means. The druids that call this forest home are the ones who preside over and manage the gathering.
• The animals here grow very large. Currently, the biggest and oldest of them is a bear known as Old Oakheart. The druids revere this bear and treat them with respect, as they say the bear is the spirit of the forest.
• Rarely, earth and air elementals can be found in this forest.
• There used to be many wolves in this forest, though their numbers have dwindled over the recent years.
• There is a prophecy among the druids that states that a threat of some sort will come to the forest. The druids have been preparing for it, but are not sure exactly what that threat is.
• Now and then, animals that are known to be extinct can be spotted here. All attempts to find them again after being spotted once have been unsuccessful.
