The Northern Spires

Filled with dangerous monters, harsh arctic storms, and treacherous mountain trails the few who survive a journey here are lauded for their courage. Wyverns roost throughout the area, but some claim that they’ve seen dragons flying as well.

History

Rumors and Tales:   • There is a group of crazy individuals who try to track, catalog, document, and seek to raise the several species of wyverns that live here.   • Wyverns live and travel in flights of up to 15 wyverns per flight. When the population of the group grows much larger than this, young wyverns will leave to establish their own flights and territory. Naturalists aren't sure how many groups of wyverns are in these mountains, as it is difficult to keep track of them safely.   • In the foothills of these mountains lies an old, abandoned fort. It was built centuries ago but has fallen into ruin. Because of the hazards of the area, between the wyverns and the wildlife in the hills, it has not been explored.   • There is a lake in the mountains, the source of a small, winding stream. The lake is protected by a nature spirit of some sort who uses water and ice elementals to aid them.   • A cavern is said to wind through several of these mountains in one labyrinthine maze of tunnels and caves. They say it goes even deeper, below the mountains and the foothills.
