Riverland Duchy
The Riverland Duchy is overseen by the Caer family. The current Duchess is Taala Caer. The Riverland Duchy is highly militarized, particularly after the Demon War , primarily set to defend against invasions from the Princeship of Lamlou .
Demography and Population
There are twenty settlements of note in the Riverland Duchy: one large town (Moess), four towns, and fifteen villages with more than a few hundred inhabitants. In 4050 MA, it was estimated that the duchy is populated by around twenty-seven thousand people, though the assumptions used by the Queen 's surveyors may be based on pre-Demon War figures.
The vast majority of the duchy's residents are Westrin Humans.
Territories
The Riverland Duchy is divided into five counties, each controlled by a Count or Countess.
Moess County is the capital county of the duchy and is controlled by the Caer family. It contains the duchy's largest town (Moess)

Military
Unlike the other five duchies of Youk Kingdom, the Riverland Duchy has a rotating standing army. Each settlement provides a number of soldiers in accordance to its size. In times of war, these forces can be doubled by the Duke or Duchess. Each village sends fifty foot soldiers or five light cavalry; each town sends two hundred fifty foot soldiers, twenty-five light cavalry, or ten Knights and at least one magic user; and Moess sends three hundred foot soldiers, one hundred light cavalry, twenty-five Knights, and three spellcasters.
After a call to war, the duchy would have a force of four thousand one hundred foot soldiers, two hundred light cavalry, fifty Knights, and six spell casters.
