Season 2: Ray of Hope

A Favour For A Friend

Prologues

 

Yasha

  The Lost's second adventure came from a request from the group's resident sentient weapon Ray Pier. He had spent almost 2 months at Yasha's side assisting and advising with the construction of an inn/secret thieves hideout called The Perch. The construction would take place in the Lonely Mountains, meaning that resources would need to be acquired from the nearby town of Cliffe. Here Yasha met Myrtle Haagstrom, a powerful figure in Halemarch's underworld, and Daggers, a young troublemaker with a penchant for short blades. Yasha's foray into Cliffe was punctuated with a show of force against a local thug that he quickly dispatched, but was able to negotiate some help constructing his Inn. He came across some brief trouble as his associates Garz and Flynn were captured during a robbery of materials, but was able to quickly dispatch the miscreants responsible. At this point, Ray felt comfortable enough to ask Yasha to help release him from his sword form, which Yasha willfully obliged. Yasha then put the word out to assemble the crew once again, to assist in what Yasha anticipated to be a long and difficult journey.

  Click had spent their time working for their handler The Collector after the events of Skolls Heist. The Collector's forces had been working hard trying to fend off a hostile underworld takeover from The Knights of Sha, with mixed results. The Collector eventually felt it necessary to disband his followers, in order to decentralise operations. Click and Shaileena were sent away together to assassinate a Knight of Sha operative in Thunderreach named Drawk Hale, while another follower Ajax Egast disavowed The Collector and abandoned the group. After an emotional goodbye, Click and Shaileena headed to Thunderreach, where they succesfully located and assassinated Drawk. The pair then went their separate ways, but resolving to stay in the Halemarch region, at which point Click recieved a letter from Yasha via one of the Grimm Brothers.

The Journey Begins

  After a reuniting and briefing at The Perch, the gangs first port of call was Cliffe. Their journey was briefly interrupted with the meeting of Cristobel Alejandro De La Hoja Maria y Hernandez and Doremi Fasola Tido. These two charming adventurers dispatched an attacking party and offered the group a job if the found themselves in the direction of the upper class district of Cliffe: The Peaks. Once the gang arrived in Cliffe they asked Myrtle for assistance in locating a powerful wizard to help free Ray, during which they bumped into a mysterious masked woman with a cold attitude towards Yasha. Their search for a wizard happened to take them to The Peaks in search of the court wizard Brynist. Cristobel's job involved robbing the local casino to get his lucky ring back, which the group happily obliged whilst seeing Brynist. They were pointed in the direction of a man named Geremund, who was an expert of soul-based magicks hiding out in Midnights Crown. After a chaotic casino heist, everyone headed to the Drow underworld, but found they needed passes to enter. Yasha also encountered the mysterious woman again, who attacked him and then unfortunately escaped.   Fangalf knew that the master forger Bo'Derek would be in Thunderreach, so the gang headed towards the city to get his assistance, and to take care of some jobs that Myrtle had tasked them with. Along the way they came across some Knights of Sha holed up in a cave that turned out to be a shrine to Artemoor, Goddess of the Hunt. Esmerelda resonated with this God, and recieved a mark of her favour. Once the party arrived in Thunderreach, they split up to deal with some businesses that had split from Myrtle, speaking to her lieutanant Axes to get details. This ended up involving the slaying of a rogue Chimera, and a rowdy super-powered bar fight, after which the group reconviened, licked their wounds, and got the forged passes from Bo'derek.  

Into Midnight's Crown

  The crew passed through Dawnbreach and into Midnight's Crown proper, descending into a network of subterranean roads. Along the way they were ambushed by The Twins, senior agents of the Knights of Sha, however Click and Yasha were able to dispatch one of them while the other escaped. They then entered into the capital Moonstone to restock and look for leads on Geremund. They were told of a mages college in Gloompoint Bay, which became their next port of call. The gang fought through the Gleaming Junction to arrive at the underground lake of Gloompoint. Heading straight to the Liksayd College of Magic, the gang met an incognito Geremund and inquired about Ray's situation. Geremund said he would help, but would require a rare magicalised form of adamantine known as Zielechite. The material was created somewhere out in the Lake of Repose, however no-one had ventured into the heart of the lake and return. Undeterred, the Lost ventured out into the lake, eventually being pulled under the surface through a magic gateway into the underwater laboratory. There the found the Zielechite, along with the remains of its creators and other adventurers that had come before (some belonging to Hati Sviksbarn).
