Dear Father,
I think in the first time in adventuring history, we managed to split the party without getting anyone seriously injured. It wasn't until we were all back together again the shit went down.
But first, so we arrived at the graveyard. It was perfectly spooky; littered with untouched graves atop buried crypts. Add the eerie silence of nature after a snowstorm and you've got yourself a lovely dark academia novel scene right there. I had a lot of time to enjoy the scenery when we split up the team. Team 1, or team Doppelganger, was Xenyria and Gorjun. They were going to disguise themselves as the Doppelgangers to infiltrate the crypt. Team Sneak was myself and Melecha. If we didn't hear anything from team 1, we were to sneak in after them and scope the situation out. Simultaneously, team Distraction was in charge of pulling out any of the "boss" 's guards while we did so.
It never came down to that, so Edelweiss and I built Snowbolds and had a snowball fight. It was quite lovely.
When Gorjun and Xenyria returned, we built our next plan. Our first priority was to get Patrick and Gerald out safely. According to Team Doppelganger, the two guards were alive, but were tied up close to the Boss's throne. Not only that, but the Boss has some powerful magic and controls a nasty group of specters as his guards. It was going to be tough to get in there and ensure the guards' safety. Our plan boiled down to this: sneak in as much we can, destroying as many specters as possible, and rush to the guards if we attract too much attention.
We got to maybe the first room, with Xenyria in the lead. She grabbed the attention of a guard, flung herself into battle without alerting the rest of us, missed the specter entirely and watched as it sunk through the floor to go alert its master. Obviously, we were off to a fantastic start.
