Dear Dad,
According to Edelweiss, yoga waits for no goliath! And it is a great way to start a day before work.
We went back to the council to get our next job which is just to go back to the mines and investigate the strange heat. The Council discovered its some sort of connection into the plane of fire. (Thank insert god name here that we're resistant, huh dad?) Though instead of an open portal, they said it's like a huge chunk of the plane just kinda cut itself from its own plane and plopped into ours.
Oh dang, remember when I said we didn't meet a dragon that time? Yeah, now our job is to literally go and meet a dragon. Though, luckily! We're not going to fight it or anything or (hopefully) get sacrificed to it, we actually get to go meet it and have a chat. Which is SO exciting. Diddreom is his name, a red deagon whose lair was affected by the fire plane too.
So! We take the 8 hour ride back to the mines and go through the caverns we had already explored, mostly chatting.
I learned that Professor Gorjun is from the University of Selona and is currently on his sabbatical. He stopped talking about himself when we got to his previous work, cause I think a special student of his passed away. So we instead talked about me. He was really curious about how virtue names work, I often forget that our nicknames are always a much bigger deal to us than to everyone else. He was really confused as to if I was calling myself "Misfortune" or "Miss Fortune". I told him both.
I think it'd be really cool to give everyone virtue names. I might be getting ahead of myself, I've only known everyone here for like 2 days maybe, but virtue names really mean a lot to the receiver. They might really like it. I was telling that to Melecha, who really liked the idea too. She started to call Xenyria Ghost. Even though Xenyria always wears this mask, I can tell she likes it when she's called Ghost.
And then we got to the chunk of the fire plane. I really don't know how to explain it, it literally was just a slice of the fire plane just dropped in the middle of our own. Like, a straight line split between the two areas. Step into the dark stone of the fire plane and BAM you're just blasted with heat. It was almost like we had stepped out of the caverns directly into a fire temple or something. We walked into this massive room with a massive door and you won't believe it, Melecha won't, but I swear to insert god here that I opened it! I did I swear it! Throden maybe gave it a shove that loosened it up, but he couldn't do it until I came over and pushed it. I was joking to be quite honest, but I did open it! It was crazy.
When we got past the door, we ran into some crazy creatures; snakes made entirely of fire and dwarves with flaming hair and beards. They would've been more terrifying if Throden didn't have some awesome strategic skills! And you can only imagine what my Ray of Frost could do to them. I was blasting rays here and there and no one stood a chance.
Oh- Sounds like Gorjun found something, I'll write more about when we finally meet the dragon!!
Love Always
Misfortune
Ps. I found out everyone's favorite color today
Edelweiss loves the colors of a stormy sunset
Xenyria likes purple
Throden's favorite is gold
I don't think Gorjun was paying attention when I asked
