Description

Appearance

Borscha is a female dwarf around 200 years old. She is about four feet tall and a bit overweight. She has long, reddish-brown or rust colored hair that is partially tied back in braids that frame her face. She wears fine dwarvish merchant clothing of a gray-cream color. There is a furred border along the clothing of silvery-white fur. She has a thick dwarven belt.   She often cradles her left arm and seems to favor not using it. She has a severe burn scar on her left hand and forearm from a forging accident many years prior, where molten steel poured over her damaged glove. This injury now prevents her from forging.   She speaks with a drawling accent.

Personality

Borscha has a caring personality. She showed genuine concern in the health of Romulus and Romsca, Smelter of Ingots, after their battle in the Foundry. She also displayed a familiarity with Romsca and provied her praise for her efforts.   She is involved deeply with the work at the Foundry and seems knowledgeable about the goings-on around it. She also seems to be skilled with appraisal and metalworking, which was shown by her ease in identifying the quality and make of Romulus's pickaxe and shovel.   Borscha seems hesitant to leave her office in the Foundry. Romulus say signs of her living in her office space, and she displayed hesitancy around going farther than her office threshold. This was shown when she said, "You get out of here almost as much as I do" to Romsca. That said, she did leave her office when Romsca was in danger.   She appears to have an affinity for shortbread cookies.

Campaign Two: Lightbringers

Session 0.4 - Fighting in the Foundry
Several days before 31 Madaet 5A 352, Borscha sent a letter to Romulus in Gimoruk, which offered Romulus a job as a wilderness guide for an upcoming aid caravan. The letter asked to meet at the Darksteel Foundry.   On 31 Madaet 5A 352, Borscha asked to speak with Romsca, Smelter of Ingots, and sent her to retrieve Romulus from in town. After their fight in the Foundry's yard upon their return, she rushed to aid Romsca. In her office, she explained her letter to Romulus and hired him to the caravan. She also provided a written letter to Romsca and assigned her to the caravan as well.
Session 1 - Silvery-White Threads
On 1 Adroth 5A 352, Borscha woke up Romsca and Romulus in their room in the Darksteel Foundry. Romsca paid her guild dues, and Borscha asked them both to make themselves useful around the Foundry while awaiting the ship's arrival.   After the arrival of the Provideniye and the Amarth'rilain, Borscha met Captain Levka Ruslan as well as the other members of the party. She answered questions for them and provided a few suggested avenues to resolve the missing carriage problem before them.
Session 3 - Guildhalls and Churches
In the late night of 1 Adroth 5A 352, Romsca woke up Borscha who had fallen asleep at work in her office. Romsca apologized for “messing up today” and Borscha reassured her, saying she knew Romsca was up to the task of recovering the needed carriages, and she wanted to push Romsca out of her comfort zone. She talked about the progress Romsca had made and the distance she had already travelled. Borscha provided her approval for Romsca to negotiate with the Hero Hunters and returned to bed.
Session 6 - Strings of Prophecies
On 2 Adroth 5A 352, the party asked Captain Ruslan about the black box in the caravan goods, and Rulsan mentioned that he and Borscha had been unable to open it.
Session 7 - Brawl for the Box
In the evening of 2 Adroth 5A 352, Romulus came to Borscha’s office and alerted her to the party’s fighting in the storage warehouse. Romulus quickly shared his suspicions about the black box from the caravan, and they stashed the box in her office. On their way back to the warehouse, they gathered Vitibuk as well.   Upon arriving at the warehouse, Borscha asked what had happened, and Mortimr asked her why she was transporting a dangerous box. She said it came with the Provideniye but wasn’t on the manifest.   When the party wanted to retrieve the box, Borscha returned to her office and brought it out to the central yard of the Foundry. Borscha was hesitant about the party investigating the box indoors with the potential for collateral damage.
Session 16 - Planting Seeds, Parting Gifts
In the morning of 4 Adroth 5A 352, the aid caravan prepared to leave the Darksteel Foundry. Borscha and Ambera said goodbye to Romsca, who hugged them both. Gertrude Oathenhammer provided a sack of coins and asked it be delivered to Kororsh, and Ambera said it would be done.   As they left, Demitri told Borscha that they may have made Borscha's life a bit busier, hinting at the recently opened Coinguard position for Porgorag.
Session 21 - Axe-Breaker Blessings

Session 30 - On the Riverbank
In the evening 13 Adroth 5A 352, Romsca cast a Sending spell to Borscha, saying, “Dealing with contraband. Unsure when I’ll return. Might also be time I continue my mission from home. You are always tribe, Shelterer-of-the-Lost.”   Borscha gave a warm reply, saying, “Golly gee, you’ve got me blushing bright with that. I always knew this would come someday. Certainly hope you aren’t a stranger.”
Session 38 - The Prophets of Regression
On 17 Adroth 5A 352, the Lightbringers found an incomplete, forged letter at the Commandment of Sky Guildhall calling for Borscha’s arrest.
