Goldvale

When explorers discovered traces of gold in the creeks flowing out of the foothills, word spread quickly. An ambitious magnate with the wealth and resources to do so quickly laid claim to the land, with plans to start searching for more ores and eventually start mining. After a few years of the operation expanding, it grew into a stable village. The land Baron appointed a governing council from the leading supervisors from each profession in the operation, all loyal to him. Over time, the nobility has been passed down the original Baron's bloodline, while the council has been replaced by elected officials, with few new seats added as necessary.
Goldvale's population and exports are fairly stable. However, a number of factors are hampering growth and output: poor working conditions, insufficient local agriculture, the Baron taking the largest portion of the village's budget.
