Shimmerband
An abandoned castle turned into a trade stop and inn. The only “buildings” outside the walls are the tents, wagons and vardos of travelers. Shimmerband isn't really a place which could be considered a permanent settlement, but rather an extremely busy stop that sees travelers converging from the east, west, and south. Classifying based on just the castle's permanent staff, Shimmerband may be considered a hamlet, however the wide radius of "temporary" lodgings surrounding it persist enough that many consider it a village.
The castle walls are lined with various flags and emblems from other settlements, gangs, or businesses all across the continent, donated by frequent visitors. Within the walls is neutral ground. Violence is not permitted, and will be met in kind by the permanent security force.
