Mor Tribe

The Mors are some of the strangest within the Sypi Confederacy. Originally, when they first arrived, they worshiped a god that was unrecognizable to the people of the Confederacy. Today, they have become highly influenced by the Losanans and have adopted much of the old Losanan faiths and ideals through their pantheon. They are Losanan in much of their culture and behaviors, but this has led to them gaining sympathy for those who fight against the tyranny of the current king. The Mors are regular raiders of the Kingdom of Losana, and they reside within the Foretbasse, along the southern border of the Confederacy.

Structure

The primary power of the Mor Tribe rests in the hands of a council of voudoun priests, who select each chief when the previous one dies. Although the chief is the final judicial say on any legal affairs and interpretation of tribal law, the priests act as the main source of diplomatic policies or legislation. The Mors are therefore a highly regimented theocracy, with each major clan or family contributing a priest or acolyte to the council. Any policies or matters that require a delegate or representative of the Mor tribe is typically handled by one of these priests or acolytes.

Culture

The behavior of the Mor tribe can be quite unnerving to those unfamiliar with their ways. The Mors believe in the veneration of their ancestors, and part of that is through the use of necromancy to allow their ancestors to continue their good work. The raids of the Mor tribe frequently include undead warriors, including skeletons and zombies, that allow them to muster greater force in their attacks, without risking the living. The prevalence of these undead servants throughout Mor society is a matter that has often come up for debate with the Confederate High Chief, as other tribes feel threatened by these creations.

Public Agenda

The Mor tribe calls for a more aggressive Confederate policy against the Kingdom of Losana. They believe that the Losanans are oppressed by the king, who they view as a puppet of the Church of the One Sun. It has been frequently argued that it would be better for the people of Losana if the current system of government was struck down and the Losanans returned to the ways of individual tribes and city states, organized in a similar manner to the Sypi Tribes. They advocate for far more than just raids, but a coordinated and organized war effort and invasion to support their religious brethren in the south.

Demography and Population

The majority of the Mor tribe consists of Losanan humans, but others have been welcomed into the tribe over the years. That said, they do not attract much immigration due to the extensive use of undead in the ranks of the Mor raiding parties and work forces. Those who are born into the tribe, however, typically remain for the rest of their lives, choosing not to leave, due to the relative ease of labor and life among the Mor clans.
