Sypi Surveyor Guild
The Sypi Surveyors' Guild was a guild based out of the town of Oltrac in the Sypi Confederacy. It was dedicated towards the exploration of goods and natural resources throughout territories that could be claimed by the business interests of the settled Confederate communities instead of the tribes. They were dedicated both towards negotiations with tribal landowners and the actual discovery of minerals and materials too. They also dabbled into the excavation and exploration of old ruins, including both dwarven citadels and Nameless Empire cities. They were disbanded in the wake of the Sypi Civil War.
Structure
The Sypi Surveyor's Guild was headed up by a political appointee determined by the mayors and lords of the participating towns and communities of the Guild. The Chief Exploration Officer of the Guild oversaw all operations and expeditions undertaken by the organization, and also managed promotions and divisions within the ranks. Independent surveyors would be selected based on talents and abilities, and these expedition leaders would be given more free reign to select their teams from the members of the Guild.
Disbandment
The towns that oversaw the membership of the guild were heavily divided on the course of the Sypi Civil War. Towns such as Burrow and Smitlaw stood firmly behind the newly elected High Chief, Quico Bienombe, while the other towns were already heavily influenced and controlled by the Church of the One Sun, dedicated towards advancing the cause of the Sihka candidate. The divisions only escalated after the massacre at the Great Temple, and it became clear that with the battle lines drawn, there was little room for the Surveyors' Guild to continue its stated purpose. Most of its members soon enlisted as scouts or soldiers in the various armies and tribes seeking to do war, and what remained of the guild's assets were seized by the constituent towns.
