Wicka Tribe
The Wicka Tribe is one of the three original founding tribes of the Sypi Confederacy. They were the first to escape the Giant Lands and cross the Sypi River, and the tribe which ultimately conquered and integrated the settlements of the Mineters. From these origins, they have been known more or less as the "royal" tribe of the Sypi Confederacy and the majority of Confederate rulers have been Wickas. The recent successes of the Bienombes have challenged that, and the Wickas are seemingly on the back foot, content to allow the Bienombes their position, and offering them their full support. The Wickas currently reside in the region in and around Wofslar, a city that is said to have been built by their people.
Structure
The Wicka Tribe is headed by a chief with absolute power, although he accepts advisors from the city of Wofslar and smaller neighboring towns with a large Wicka population. These advisors wield limited power in the chief's name, and handle any legal disputes among Wicka families within the communities the Wicka reside in. The nomadic portion of the population is also advised by the priests of the Wicka pantheon, who also hold great sway over the advice given the chief. Each new chief is selected from among the descendants of the previous chief, as the priests of the pantheon determine who is most worthy of succession and their father's position.
Public Agenda
The Wicka tribe has always called for balance between the various factions within the Sypi Confederacy. Prior to the civil war, they attempted to maintain the balance between followers of the old ways and the Church of the One Sun. The election of the Bienombe chief changes all of that, and threw the nation into conflict. The Wicka reluctantly supported the Bienombes who had usurped their own dominant position within the Confederacy. The tribe now calls for a restoration of balance within the tribe, warning that aggression will ultimately only lead to another vicious civil war.
Demography and Population
The Wicka tribe consists entirely of Wicka humans, with only a handful of other humans from other tribes within the Confederacy. These other humans for the most part have found their way into the tribe through the towns of the Cotaw Plains. The tribe is the largest human tribe within the Confederate borders.
