Travite Tribe
The Travites were one of the handful of tribes that joined the Sihka directly during the civil war, serving against the Bienombes and attempting to aid in the takeover of the nation by the Church of the One Sun. Despite their role in the conflict, they were allowed to continue residing within the boundaries of the Confederacy when the war came to a close, unlike the Lewites, who fled, and the Sihkas, who were destroyed. The Travites were expelled from their ancestral lands, which were taken over by the Wicka tribe, but instead were given control of the former Sihka territories within the Foretbasse. They have since renounced the Church and continue to struggle, maintaining the ruins and wreckage left behind by the war.
Structure
The Travites became organized similarly to that of what was viewed as the civilized world. The chief of the tribe is a petty king of sorts, who achieves his power by the title being passed down from father to eldest surviving son. The chief has absolute power, but the tribe has agreed to supervision by a Bienombe delegate, that is appointed yearly by the High Chief in Wofslar. This delegate oversees the tribe and while they do not intervene in judicial affairs, they do control the diplomacy and overall oversight of the tribe. In recent years, some leniency has been allowed although, the foreign policy of the tribe continues to be maintained by the Bienombes.
Culture
The Travites are descendants of the Wicka tribe, and this is displayed in most of their cultural heritage. There has been a small shift in the tribe's culture, thanks to the influence of Jakonian missionaries over the decades before the outbreak of the Sypi Civil War. Many Travites take names from the Jakonians, rather than traditional names of their own culture. This originally was to show their divergence from the faiths of the Wicka pantheon, and their embrace of the Church of the One Sun. Despite the Church's defeat, these naming traditions have stuck within the tribe, causing a bit of a mistrust from other Wickas in the Sypi Confederacy.
Public Agenda
The public positions of the Travite tribe are controlled openly by the Bienombes, who have maintained a delegate overseeing political affairs in the tribe since the end of the civil war. The tribe therefore backs the Bienombe, with the only deviation being upon raiding policies. The Travites have long argued for more Confederate funds to assist in the clean up of old Sihka ruins and the restoration of border fortifications along the border with the Kingdom of Losana. These have been very outspoken efforts that have yet to amount in any substantial aid from other tribes.
Demography and Population
The majority of the tribe consists of Wicka humans, but after the civil war, a handful of surviving Sihkas were accepted into the tribe. These were the ones who were deemed worthy of amnesty by the High Chief, and allowed to remain in the Confederacy with their families. These Sihkas have for the most part integrated handily into the Travite tribe, without causing any unrest or issues. They are still, even years after the war, closely watched by their neighbors and the Bienombes for any sign of disobedience or unrest.
