Twenter Tribe

Prior to the outbreak of the Sypi Civil War, the Twenters were a byword for laziness and decadence within the Confederacy. They provided recreational plant life distilled and warped into strange forms that could cause a variety of effects upon the users. These materials were made illegal in many Confederate settlements, and the Twenters were consistently at odds with most other communities and societies. The war itself changed that, as what was once recreational became a material advantage to the Bienombe side in the conflict. Many of the plants and mushrooms grown or created by the Twenters had clear physical effects, some of which could enhance warriors in battle. These were widely purchased and used among the Bienombe side of the war, and in exchange, the Twenters were granted the grazing lands and forests formerly belonging to the Yurfac tribe in the Cotaw Plains.

Structure

The Twenters are overseen by a chief who has all of the power in this tribe. The chief acts as the final judge on any disputes or legal matters within the tribe, and oversees all foreign and internal diplomacy. The position of chief has long been passed from father to eldest son, while he appoints delegates from within the tribe to handle any affairs that require a personal touch when the chief is not available.

Culture

Today the Twenters are still known to be decadent, more than ever before thanks to the prosperity brought to them by the war. More lands than ever have been turned towards the cultivation of their crops and mind-altering substances, as demand has risen. Many soldiers who fought in the war have found themselves addicted to the Twenters' goods, and this has led to a boom in wealth, as they are traded across the entire Sypi Confederacy and even beyond into Losana and Bamard. The wealth has been turned into greater leisure time for the Twenter leadership, as they ply themselves with material goods and services from the finest vendors in the Confederacy.

Public Agenda

The Twenters are supporters of the Bienombes in nearly every political matter within the Sypi Confederacy. They have also offered full support for the tribes that advocate raiding and marauding across the borders into other nations. They have also advocated for the High Chief to force legalization of their mind-altering substances in the reticent towns and tribes of the Confederacy that continue to deny the right of the Twenters to sell their goods in those territories.

Demography and Population

The majority of the tribe consists of Charki humans. These humans have only been marginally supplemented by other races, mostly addicts who have succumbed to the allures of the Twenter lifestyle. Many of the people who join the tribe are similar addicts who have been unable to shake their dependence upon the chemicals offered by the Twenters, and have ended up in debt to support their habits. These debts often lead to them becoming workers in the fields and huts of the Twenters, unable to escape due to their dependence, slaves in all but name.
