Session 20221215 Getting to know the caravan

First Caravan and Critters session
Venusday, 20th Descending Fire, Calendar
Nightshade and Bertrum Blumenthal join the Fruitful Caravan as scout and repair-man respectively, they have agreed to remain at least as far as the first city stop in Halta. As they prepare to leave Bertrum purchases Henry the Mule to carry his tools and equipment.
Most of the day is spent settling into the small mobile community and getting to know its members. Deciding that Chak is the friendliest looking of the guards Bertrum strikes up a conversation, learning that the former is a professional guard who has mostly worked on Guild ships and has never been to Halta. He is friendly enough, if direct. In turn he learns that Bertrum's initial reaction to a dangerous situation will be to try to think his way out of it, ideally by applying technical knowledge, and that he is travelling in order to get over a woman (Chak believes a better idea would be finding another woman).
