Wind Square
A pair of halflings keep their head down as they cross the street, avoiding a pair of New Kingdom thugs. Hands shake in a backroom, finalizing a deal that will ruin the livelihoods of thousands. The laughter of the affluent echoes down into the streets from their rooftop gala, unaware or indifferent to the plight of many.
Once a small market district, the Wind Square quickly grew past the market square that the area was remembered for. Quickly growing into a sprawling commercial and residential district that was only stemmed in the renaming of Periton . However, after the Tumult many residential buildings had vacancies, allowing companies to buy them out for corporate needs. Amongst these are the many guilds that have formed in recent years, many of which crashed and burned in the decade that followed their formation. However those that shared the same disposition as the rising gang, New Kingdom, often found a manner in which to survive the times. This New Kingdom was formed out of the remnants of the Empire, a gang that was fractured after Hero's Call's Attack. Under new stewardship, New Kingdom turned towards revitalizing their territory. Assuring new jobs to those willing, protecting the businesses as long as they paid a tithe and keep the undesirables from causing trouble. The fact that these undesirables are often non-humans is often unreported.
