Starfleet

Starfleet is the main exploratory & Scientific branch, diplomatic agency and armed service force of the Federation of Planets. Its is a peacekeeping armada, comprised of thousands of ships and millions of officers and enlisted personnel hailing from across all of the Federation's worlds and even beyond. Its primary mission is the continuing exploration of space, known by many in the fleet as the "The Final Frontier". Through this exploration, Starfleet is often the first and main point of contact between the Federation and other nations and as such serves as the main diplomatic arm of the Federation, especially with newly discovered life and civilisations. This exploration in turn is driven and a driver of enthusiastic scientific discovery, so much so that Starfleet also represents the Federation's primary fondation of science and research. This ethos is summarised succinctly in Starfleet's creedo, made famous by many of the most prominent Starfleet captains and visionaries of the Federation; "To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilisations. To boldly go where no one has gone before."

Starfleet also bears the responsibility of defending the Federation, its allies and innocent life from Sentient and natural threats. Ships of the fleet will will always render aid whenever they can, from humanitarian efforts at disaster zones, to warding off pirates and raiders
