Kidalis Havengard

Kidalis Havengard was a Human nobleman and Paladin. He was the son of Anathar and Ivala Havengard, and the younger brother of Daria and Ezelan. He was born in the town of Barwych and raised around the Haven's Guard, his father's old mercenary company. When he was ten, he was fostered to Sardan Greenfields, Baron of Silver Falls, in the town of Seowyn's Crossing. There, he became friends with Brom Furrow, Brother Natharios (then called Eustace), Ghost, and Tristan Holdfast, forming the beginnings of the Fire Wasps. He was taught much by Eldrin Nath, the Baron's Huntsmaster, and formed a closer bond with him than with master-at-arms Holloway Larkwell. He also formed a friendship with Anil, the groundskeeper.
At age 13, he had a strange experience in the Feywild. He strayed across the planar bounds into the ruins of Blackthorn Castle, apparently called by the sleeping Damarion ap Tythion in his captivity to Auntie Mengybone. The Arch-Fey marked him, but the Hag sent him back to Tol. Thereafter, he was regarded as a bit touched by much of Sardan's court, and his formerly brown eyes had turned green. He began to show signs of a bond with the Feywild that marked him as different than many others at court. He also gained a new friend in Tilly Thistleshanks, who had joined the other Fire Wasps.
Following the death of Brom Furrow at the hands of Goblinoids who invaded Road's End when he was temporarily in charge, as well as Sardan's fatal wounding during a boar hunt, his fosterage ended, and he was sent back to Barwych with a bit of a shadow on his reputation. Later, however, he helped turn the Fire Wasps into an adventuring company, given charter under the new Baron, Kadran Greenfields, and joined by the Shaper. Kidalis had many adventures with them and was known for wielding the swords Angtharius and Palangurth. Eventually, he was able to come to the aid of Marquis Damarion and help free the mysterious fey from Auntie Mengybone's control.
He often acted as the Fire Wasps' barometer when dealing with the nobility, and he developed an affectionate relationship with Alinora Greenfields, daughter of Baron Kadran, that might have bloomed into more. Unfortunately, he met his death in the Shadowfell, battling the Dragon Umbrazhalanoth. Where his remains fell, a tree began to grow that actually reflected in the Shadowfell, Tol, and the Feywild. A cutting of the tree is also growing in Seowyn's Crossing. His swords were returned to the lords who had granted them to him, and his shield was returned to his family.
The Fire Wasps learned later that Kidalis had secretly born some of the blood of House Kassryx, a fact that drew the ire of the mysterious Dame Rigel ap Balorann, who seemed to feel him a proper target for vengeance because the great knight Landyn Kassryx had not returned her love. She attacked the Fire Wasps because she could not attack Kidalis, and she gathered many of their enemies to try and destroy them. She herself was slain, however, putting an end to a sad and strange chapter related to Kidalis' life and legacy.
As a result of a miracle that Natharios begged of Shandalene, Kidalis and his winged steed Nastariel were able to participate in the Battle of Worldbreaker's Howe . Kidalis battled the dark paladin Andravora Krelhariv, ultimately defeating her in combat. After the battle and an emotional farewell to his living companions, he returned to Arenthus to continue to serve the powers of good.
