Shaper

Like most Shardminds, the Shaper began existence as part of the Living Weapon that the creatures of the Far Realm used in the early years following the foundation of the Seven Kingdoms to punch a hole through the reality of Tol into their own. This was foiled by the Argent Circle, and the Weapon was shattered, blown into pieces that were hurled high into the sky by its catastrophic destruction. A cluster of green crystals landed far away in the lands of central Summerlund. Seeking refuge, they moved of their own volition into the Weaver-built structure that the juvenile Fire Wasps would call the Castle of the Old Ones a millennium later.
These crystals remained dormant until a Goblinoid ritual began to try and awaken them. It might have failed, but it was sealed with a sacrifice of blood - the life of the young Brom Furrow. It did not succeed as the Goblins wished, however, as the crystals absorbed some of Brom's memories and personality. They briefly animated in humanoid form to aid Eustace, Tristan Holdfast, Tilly Thistleshanks, Ghost, and Kidalis Havengard to win their battle. They then returned to dormancy and remained so for several years.
By the time the adult Fire Wasps were ready to set forth on adventures together, the form had manifested several times. To the horror of Brom's parents, Luther and Marta Furrow, they often came to the nearby Furrow farm and acted much as Brom would've done, doing chores and wandering around the land. The Fire Wasps took the shardmind into their company, calling it Nameless for a time, alternating it with Crys. After some months together, the group was attacked by the Wilden Telanon who tested him on behalf of the Ardent. Pleased by the restraint and intelligence of the new shardmind, the Ardent took him into apprenticeship, teaching him much of his Psionic potential and introducing him to the Mountain and the other members of the Topaz Society. This gave the young one a purpose - to stop the destruction or corruption of Tol by the aberrations of the Far Realm - and a focus. From then on, the Nameless one called himself the Shaper.
The Shaper rejoined the other Fire Wasps later on and has stayed with them since. He fought by their side against many threats, including the Mindslayer and the Fusion. He often acted as a barometer of common sense for the party, helping them decide what actions are the best from a pure and logical direction. When the threat of the Tarrasque was unleashed by the Five Who Call, Shaper was often responsible for helping the Fire Wasps travel over great distances, accomplishing in days what might have taken months. He claimed the flying cloak Valathorendal from the Bastion of the Lord of Bats, and he deduced the identity of Shadarak Mithranak in the final battle with that terrible entity. He also began the process of bringing back Rubicus Chillbrow when the Frost Dwarf Druid was slain by the Worldbreaker.
