The Evier Family

Long-known as a ruthless and very business-savvy family, the Evier's control the very profitable Krag'nak Range and make sure that is run as lucratively as it can be. They are known to be somewhat cold and ruthless when set against another person. Nevertheless, their ability and skill is hard to deny.

Structure

Like most of the royal families, the Evier leadership went to the oldest surviving son. If there was no male heir, it would then pass to the nearest male relative.

Culture

The Eviers have little compassion and little patience. In fact, they understood only two things well, Money and Power, and they have plenty of both. The Eviers are widely disliked, but are so effective in what they do that many see them as a necessary evil. As a such, their land is an odd mix of those who dislike the Eviers, but cannot uproot them, and those who aim to repeat their behaviors in their own businesses. It has made the land wealthy if not morally bankrupt.

Public Agenda

Publicly, the Eviers handle the kingdom's coin, especially the minting process, in which the coins are emblazoned with a family's crest, to be given special use in that land's trading. They also boast a capable military force.

Assets

They boast a virtually unending amount of gold, as well as a great many troops and transport.

Marriage

The Eviers and Riverwoods are very closely linked due to the marriage of Alissa Evier to King Theo Riverwood.

Law

The Tàlma highly respect the Eviers as they have managed to create order and law out of a land that was once dangerous and hostile.

The Treatment of the Dead

The Eviers hold an interest for the Collwells, fascinated by their practices that keep the dead from rising and their dedication to the art.   The Collwells are sometimes angry with the Eviers for their refusal to assist with the costs of funeral services for those who cannot afford to pay. The Eviers have historically refused to offer money to help cover these costs despite being amongst the wealthiest of the families.

Safety

Uncommonly, the Eviers like the the Underborne for their efforts in keeping the country safe from dangers few of the commoners even know about.

The Fox Queen

Despite their previous appreciation, the families have come to odds over their disagreements regarding the new Fox Queen. The Moonstars view her as a tyrant and murderer who stole the Silver Chair while the Eviers consider her a legitimate ruler and are content to do business with her.

Lifestyle/Money

Being a family molded in the old age, the Eviers disapprove of some of the social laws in place in the Sapphire Shores and of the Gaster family in general. Likewise Lord Wix disapproves of the Evier family, thinking them cold and uncaring towards their own people, caring only about money.

Money/Horses

While the Eviers have an interest in the Woodway horses, the horse lords dislike the Eviers, as they view them as money-lovers and unwilling to earn a true living.

No Help/Distrust

The Northalls disapprove of the Eviers for their refusal to help the lands who struggle to feed and shelter their people, and the Eviers have often expressed a dislike and distrust of the Kenku family.

Money

The Eviers and Doxys have a history of arguing over monetary gain. The Eviers see the Doxy's adventures as little more than illegal gain, while the Doxys tend to see the Eviers' behavior as lax and lazy. They have often argued before.

Lord does not fight

The Ofelds have a strong dislike of Aries Evier, as they seem him as a cowardly man who hides behind his soldiers, rather than a fighter himself.

No Help

The Whitehills strongly dislike the Eviers, as they've appealed, asking for financial and agriculture help many times, yet have so far been ignored.

No Help/Law

The Lichts have come to have a strong distaste for the lord of the Krag'nak Range as he refuses to help the people of the shadowed forest or dragontongue. They view this as selfish and cold.   The Eviers pay the Lichts little thought, but do appreciate their efforts to run and effective and lawful kingdom.

No Help/Forest

Despite being an extremely wealthy family and being capable of providing help to the Hopes as they attempt to sort out their forest, the Eviers remain withdrawn due to a disapproval of the Hopes, believing them incapable of handling the issue appropriately.
