Azimuth 2 - Session 04 - Dusty Dens

Hero Hunters Facility
The party headed to the abandoned storehouse of the Hero Hunters Facility. It appeared to be a repurposed manor that was once in a similar style to the other buildings of the facility. Arwin and Ilmendwyth looked around the building before Romsca removed the planks on the front door and the party went inside.   The foyer of the manor was old and dusty. There were several broken and forgotten crates and boxes, and it appeared it once was used for storage. They looked through the rooms on the main level, finding some hints about the previous residents.   Chaka found a large painting of an adventuring party, which seemed to show a young Haugon alongside a hobgoblin and two halflings. The art piece was titled “The Hero Hunters” and was painted by Argilla, son of Kla. Romsca found a somewhat decayed journal from one of the halflings and pocketed it. Demitri located a children’s book titled “The Fox of Bonmalo and the Tower Heist”.   Mortimr and Demitri heard sounds coming from the walls, and Romulus sensed decay in the basement. Most of the party went downstairs, leaving Romsca, Gertrude, and Chaka upstairs.   In the basement, they found signs of decay and the broken bodies of dead creatures. They also noticed two tunnels dug through the walls leading deeper underground. There was a gnawing sound somewhere nearby and squelching water from the walls and upper level.   As they moved further in, Mortimr loudly stepped on an old wooden plank. Immediately the sounds of growling and motion sounded around them. With the commotion, the wet sounds in the building grew louder, and oozes fell from the ceiling and walls.   Monstrous demons of claws and fangs came at the party from the dark corners of the basement and the collapsed room above. Many gray ooze creatures emerged from the washroom and dropped from the basement ceiling. The party fought throughout the manor’s basement and upper level, and the creatures were slain. The bodies of the demons immediately dissolved, and the oozes collapsed into puddles.   After the battle, the party took stock of what happened. Romulus and Romsca recognized these were the same creatures they battled in the Darksteel Foundry. Ilmendwyth investigated the dead animals in the basement and saw they had been broken and mutilated, but not eaten. He also saw the dug tunnels seemed to lead into the city’s sewers.   The party argued if they should close the tunnels or enter them and investigate. Romsca wanted to collapse the tunnels, but Arwin, Romulus, and Ilmendwyth wanted to go in. While they debated, Mortimr cast Firebolt and collapsed both tunnels.   As the party gathered to leave, Chaka noticed the female halfling pictured appeared very similar to Haugon’s assistant, Coletta.
