Minx

One of the Ten Houses of the Kingdom of Accia and considerably influential after the campaign in Yaxiya, despite their losses. Like the Scylla House, their form mimics their name. Their version of Maralith's Form grants them the features of a Minx while their second generally consists of some kind of elemental aura, particularly Flithmar or Beranok. They originate and oversee the lands of the Tenebrous Chain.

Both during their campaign in Alkelbulan and especially in Yaxiya, the Minx set themselves apart as aerial warriors and made names for themselves, known for their ferocity and loyalty to the crown. They have strong ties to the the Cel Tradats by blood, do business with the Scylla along their eastern borders and trade extensively with the Espina. They have had an ongoing rivalry over the position of leading the Aerial Division with the Aquila and Cel Tradats but have mostly kept this honorable. In recent years, they have taken a strong stance against the Chevalier and Dowager Duchess Evelyn Minx had gone so far as to expose their malpractice as beast tamers, allying herself with the Scylla in this matter. In general, Evelyn has guided and managed the Minx House with precision and grace.

Most notable has been the career and conquests of their current Duke Allen Minx in the Yaxiyan campaign, officially securing their victory, which has left their House awash in extensive territorial gains. These are split mainly between the Minx House and the Stahlmann House but the scale is greatly tipped in the Minx's favor. The largest question in everyone's minds is who will inherit these territories? For nearly two decades the Minx House went without an heir, many plotting their future on the decay of this House. That is until Tia Minx has arrived on the political scene, thrashing apart the plans and expectations of many ambitious nobles. Everyone is waiting to see how she will grow or if she will fail.

The Minx hail from the Lacuna Heath of the Tenebrous Chain. However, their late Duke Titus Minx, was originally a Storm Viking  chieftain of the Fulgurant Mesa and took the Minx name upon marrying Evelyn. The Minx family was among the original allies of the Syltharis king who re-founded the kingdom, rising from among many nobles quarreling for lands amid the Chain. The Minx have the most lands to their name and have a powerful political presence but, as all but two of the Minx heirs died in service and Allen disappeared from the political scene for two decades, everyone assumed this influence was up for grabs once Evelyn passed away. Now, everyone is scrambling to reassess the future of this illustrious House. The Chevalier in particular are hungry for influence and redemption as well as having a grudge against Evelyn Minx.

Tia is the only Minx of her generation but she was raised away from the kingdom in the Celestial Achipelago. Evelyn had an astounding seventeen children but Allen and Felicity were the only to survive service, Felicity suffering an injury which has left her infertile. Tia was raised without any knowledge of her family history or position or anything about the kingdom at all. Allen had intended for her to never set foot in Accia but a civil war in the archipelago sent he and his family back. Mina, his wife, fled their escort and is still unaccounted for. Tia enters the military training program almost immediately after their arrival at the capital and Allen is doing all he can with his position to look out for her. Despite Felicity's desire to have nothing to do with the Minx family, she still winds up as Tia's flight instructor.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Despite Allen's absence, Evelyn has maintained a firm grip on court politics and has brilliantly manages their expansive territories--far more aptly than most of her peers and far better than her late husband. Evelyn is extremely respected within the capital, marred only by her absent son and infertile daughter. Tia has become her hope but also a target, her existence potentially dashing the ambitions of other Houses in one day claiming the Minx territories. Evelyn is currently trying to pass on her knowledge and tactics in leading the Minx House to her son and Allen has made his way back into Ambrose's court. He is willing to do whatever it takes to regain the king's favor in order to better protect his daughter. Many ambitious nobles stand against him and he must reclaim the skills and respect he once commanded. With his wife assumed dead and his position as Duke, marriage might be one such tool he may be forced to utilize, despite his own reluctance.
