The town is known for its expansive vineyards and breweries which stock nearly all of the taverns in Osland. Its famous for its most desired wine known as Ridgemere Red. Its vineyards remain relatively safe up in the valley away from the coast line. Mist Storms are always a problem but not too much for the small town to handle or outsource to adventurers or Mistreavers.
Government
Ridgemere operates similarly to all other lordships within Osland. It is ruled by Lord Mordhston who collects the taxes and pays his levies and soldiers to protect the town. Lord Mordhston typically delegates most of the courtly duties to his Magistrate Ernelius Galor. The lord is never far from drink, causing Ernelius to have to pick up the slack. Thankfully not much happens in Ridgemere.

The town is guarded by the lord's levy which is made up of a small regiment of soldiers. They rarely see combat as the valley is naturally well protected. The lord also has heaps of gold to pay any sellsword or adventurer to fix the town's problems, while the guard just maintains order and breaks up drunken brawls of which are frequent.

The fields are tended and harvested year round, thanks to the climate of the Cowl Valley. This continuous growth time allows vintners to make wine year round. The smell of sweet red grapes fills all traveler's lungs throughout the valley. Ridgemere is also endowed with lots of tourism thanks to its beautiful rolling hills and vistas dotting the landscape. Royalty frequent the valley for vacation stays as well as regional celebrations.
Infrastructure
An overlook of Cowl Valley, leading into Ridgemere.
There is only one road in and out of Ridgemere called the Vale Road. It runs up from the Gold Road into the Cowl Valley high up where Ridgemere lies. The road up the valley is quite weary for it climbs several hundreds of feet into the valley beneath the off-shoot of the Centrem Mountains. Once in the valley however, travel becomes easy as it is filled with green pastures and rows upon rows of freshly grown grapes, ready to be harvested.
