Circus of the Disquieting
The Circus of the Disquieting possesses a single main event tent, a midway with carnival games, a few attractions, and a Hall of Oddities. The circus acts range from typical shows such as acrobats to some that are more... unique. Not affiliated with any of the guilds directly, business is conducted in accordance with Eisen law and regulations. People from any social class may be found here, though mostly middle-class families are the usual visitors. The circus does have a discount night twice a month, where prices are lowered for low class families, and children get in free.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the circus is to service the masses of all social classes with marvelous sights that amaze, guaranteed to raise every eyebrow and voice to cheer and rejoyce here at The Circus of the Disquieting!
Architecture
The main tent is tall and brightly colored with the reds and whites most associate with the circus. There are many rows of seats within and a setup for high flying stunts. The midway is host to many food stalls and carnival games and features simple rides such as the carousel. The Hall of Oddities is a side building that features unique side acts and curious artifacts discovered in the dark corners of the world.
Defenses
The only defenses the circus has are basic security personnel. For more serious threats, the Rooks will have to be called in to handle the situation.
History
Founded in 1878, the Circus of the Disquieting was founded to provide a different, slightly darker manner of content and excitement in addition to usual circus acts. Acts are recruited through a talent agent known as the Man With the Upside-Down Face (or Manny for short). People who would have elsewhere been ostracized or abused due to their uniqueness such as Virtuoso and Heinrich the Fall-Apart Man are given a home and employment in the circus. There is a big family atmosphere among the employees, from custodial staff, to acrobat, to Clown and Oddity, the circus looks after their own.
After two years in Montaigne, where the circus started, social and economic pressures influenced the circus management's decision to take the show on the road to eventually settle near Novandria.
Tourism
As a place of entertainment, one would hope that it would attract tourists and visitors...
