Queer Curios and Keepsakes
A unique spot in the Noble Quarter, Queer Curios and Keepsakes is a haven for those interested in oddities, as anything from antiques and refurbished pieces to magic items and original art can be found inside. The owner takes donations for consignment sale and always makes sure the donor gets paid. As it is in the Noble Quarter, You will most often see nobles and other wealthy persons patroning the shop. You may see others, like students, guild artisans, or collectors, exploring the dusty shelves of the storefront.
Other people who tend to frequent the shop are members of The Circle of Confidence, The Eisen Metalworkers Association, The Fellowship of Tailors, Clothiers, and Haberdashers, The Grand Society of Adventurers and Explorers, and The Worshipful Company of Jewelers and Goldsmiths. Sometimes you will find an employee aside from the owner, Si’Nihran Vachko, and they are usually an apprentice or two in The Gilded Library of Scribes, Historians, Archivists, and Clerks.
Purpose / Function
Queer Curios and Keepsakes is a store that primarily stocks resale items (think New York City “thrifting”). Among the inventory, one will find a plethora of antiquities from before the Eletech Revolution and outdated but refurbished furniture as well as lightly used or previously owned but unused items like clothing, knick knacks, embellished weaponry or even magic items.
About 50-65% of the stock is procured and prepared for sale by Sri’Nihran Vachko themselves. The remaining 35-50% is consignment. Consignment stock earns the donor a 60% commission on sales.
Architecture
The buildings are surrounded by greenery and neatly trimmed bushes.
The first floor of the building is made up of three small rooms near the front, and a long room around the back as well as a lavatory. The counter and register are kept in the first room. Upstairs are several rooms with backstock as well as Mx. Sri’Nihran’s personal office.
Defenses
Sri’Nihran benefits from the general safety of the Noble Quarter, but they also allocate a generous sum to have the building guarded nearly 24/7. It is surrounded by a wrought iron fence with a lockable gate. The building itself is warded with spells like Alarm.
History
The building that houses Queer Curios and Keepsakes used to be a post office, the columbarium in the back still intact.
Tourism
In recent years the store has gained some popularity, bringing in more wealthy diplomats and nobles from elsewhere.
