Cojaea Nesting
The Cojaea Nesting -- sometimes known as the Occupation of Cojaea Run, especially by those more squeamish -- was the occupation of Cojaea Run by the Host of Selephise, in particular a large contingent of the Azgorach Horde, following the self-slaughter of Gild Bitterway on the 71st Day of the Season of Ripening, 987AC, during the War of the Six.
Cojaea Run's position on the river between the Inebi Grove and the capital of Keismeb made it a desirable central location for deployment of Azgorach forces compared to prior, more southern locations, though the presence of a significant body of water was distracting for many of the species.
The Run would later be assaulted in early 989AC by the Hidden Company, known as the Assault on the Nest, which opened the way for its occupation by the Pact.
The Conflict
Prelude
On the 69th Day of the Season of Ripening, 987AC, the Bitterway living in the Run were persuaded to change allegiances from Accord to Pact; in this capacity they were poised for a surprise rear attack on Accord forces in the Central Theater. However, the Ba'athorog Frell discovered the ploy and instead, exploited the eova's natures through lies, gleld-based manipulation, and riling of their Ega using rhésal to spur the gild's shared 'cave' -- the entire gild turned on each other, resulting in mass slaughter.
Outcome
Two days later the Run began to be occupied by warlocks and Azgorach Horde forces, and became their new base of operations.
Historical Significance
Legacy
Although there were Bitterway survivors, they were absorbed by other gilds or relocated elsewhere and the gild was effectively dissolved.
In Literature
The Bitterway's demise is mentioned in Akasien Ttarvek's war poem "The Epic of the Hidden".
