Fell Islands

"I was there, the day the last black red was hoisted proud upon the mast. When the Blackmasks landed on Ushrocoran and defiled the resting places of our ancestors, and for what? because we disagreed with their beliefs? ...My Grandfather was the best of our mages, I saw him turn the roiling ocean against them and drag their flag ship down before their arrows brought him down. Our last ship flew the red flag of the reaver kings of old, I saw it flying in the wind and I saw it torn down by the hands of man." -Alea Cracan, Departing Antanar Isle
Nestled within the wretching waters of the Neylvian Tides, the Fell Islands are a chain of largely desolate islands between the coasts of the Hunolduran Plains to it's north and accursed continent of Ashorene to it's south. Originally the home of the many pirate lords that plundered the Sea of Dei Lodahr, the age of Piracy came to a quiet close over the decade that followed the rise of Khenthiad and their powerful naval vessels which protected commerce along Hattokar's Sea and Denbihr Gulf

Geography

Western Islands

Mistwood Isle
In the border waters of the Sea of Dei Lodahar and the Nelyvian Tides, Mistwood Isle is the furthest removed from the Fell Island's dark reputations but it's climate and the poor health of the soil from which the Fell Islands are grouped have meant the island has never been capable of supporting a large population. Scant few fishing villages numbered in less than a hand's full call Mistwood home.
Antanar Isle
Antanar Isle is the most populous of the Fell Islands, but only by little more than Mistwood, the soil uncapable of sustaining plentiful vegetation and the waters making sea faring difficult in the area. In spite of these perils, some Dark Aelves had been able to thrive in the area up until the Sworn Knights called their Third Crusade upon the Dark Aelves and in a show of sheer punitive wrath, decimated the closest the Fell Islands had come to a city.

Central Islands

Onvonar
The Island of Onvonar is the largest of the central islands, famous for it's dense fogs that have persisted since the year 1098 during the Second Crusade of the Sworn Knights. It is believed that an Aelven Sorceror, in an attempt to mask the island from coming ships made the attempt to command the very waters of the Fell Islands surrounding Onvonar and bend them into a mist. What truth there is to this, or what even became of the sorceror is unknown.
Ushrocoran
Ushrocoran, also known as The Island of Mortis is the smallest of the Central Islands. It is here that the Dark Aelves of the Fell Islands bury their dead in the sands of the shore. As part of their cultural tradition, the waves are allowed to take the bodies in time and they are left to depart on one final physical journey as their spirits depart for their own journey. As such, the Island is considered off limits for any permanent settlments save for priests whose lives are devoted to the performance of funerary rites.
Nelanu, The Greater
The Island of Nelanu, The Greater is a place of relative calm in the surrounding tides with the Eastern Islands looming in one direction and the Islands of Onvonar and Ushrocoran in the other. The Greater is paired with it's sister island, Nelanu, The Lesser who'se fruits support The Greater.
Nelanu, The Lesser
Located south of Noxran Island, Nelanu, The Lesser is the smallest island in the whole of the archipelago and as the name implies, is closely related to it's sister island, Nelanu, The Greater. The Lesser is known for being unique among the Fell Islands in that it is the only place where fruit grows in abundance. As such, the Island is of great significance to the Fell Islanders

Eastern Islands

Noxran Island
The largest of the three eastern islands, the coasts surrounding Noxran are littered with the corpse-hulls of the countless ships that have attempted to sail the narrow waters surrounding it. Foul inedible crabs skitter across patches of old bone draped in brined seaweed and rusted orange metals, and blue-green copper filigree consumed in verdigris.
A shared trait between the three easternmost islands is the black soil and rotted gray treegrowth that permeates these islands, but Noxran is paramount in this.
Ashran Haven
The smallest of the three eastern islands. It is said that Ashran Haven was the island from which Braddock of Conteign had made his escape from during his period of captivity. The dense vegetation of Ashran shift endlessly between spouts of death, decay and rebirth all within singular seasons. The rotten remains of one tree being the spawning ground of two more trees in it's place.
Nelyvan
The easternmost of the Fell Islands, the waters surrounding Nelyvan are in a nearly perpetual storm, the water pulsing with a violent seizing life. It is from this island that the waters known as the Neylvian Tides get their name.
