Half-Elves

Walking in two worlds but truly belonging to neither, half-elves combine what some say are the best qualities of their elf and human parents: human curiosity, inventiveness, and ambition tempered by the refined senses, love of nature, and artistic tastes of the elves. Some half-elves live among humans, set apart by their emotional and physical differences, watching friends and loved ones age while time barely touches them. Others live with the elves, growing restless as they reach adulthood in the timeless elven realms, while their peers continue to live as children. Many half-elves, unable to fit into either society, choose lives of solitary wandering or join with other misfits and outcasts in the adventuring life.

Half-Elves in Alemi

There are just under 3M Half-Elves on the continent, with a tad over 700,000 found in various settelements. On the whole, aside from being less likely to be found in rural areas, the population of Half-Elves in Mizra'aki mirrors that of Elves, as more Half-Elves have the telltale Elven ears. As such, its no surprise that the three largest Half-Elf populations are in Myr cities. There are exceptions, however: both Phirtā in the Lōka Matribuni and Knavesey in The Camian Duocracy have roughly 7,000 Half-Elves among their inhabitants. By percentage, it is largely the same story, with Kyat in Toniyll boasting nearly 30% of its population as Half-Elves. Outside of Myr, Sahara (Lōka Matribuni), Asigerami (Mehali), and Demi (Awira) all have over 20% Half-Elf populations. Of the vary large cities, both Iskybar (Kema) and Donye (Nyria) have sparse Half-Elf representation. The cause is clear in the case of Donye: the Nyrians actively persecute all mixed races, Half-Elves especially. Iskybar is more complicated, with a long history of economic discrimination being the primary cause for the Kema capital having under 3% Half-Elven representation.
