Cereus Compass
The Cereus Compass is a large clay disk shrine located in the Argil's Gate region of New Keeleon in the Queendom of Keeleon. It is a known holy site of Avianor, The Timefather.
Description
The shrine is a large, raised clay disk with a radius of approximately twenty feet. It forms a platform only around a foot higher than the surrounding ground. The ground around the edges of the shrine slope up to the surface of the disk. On the surface of the clay disk is a carved design of a cereus flower. It is designed as a compass rose, with indicators to show the cardinal directions. The carving is several inches deep and seems to resist wear and erosion. The clay surface of the shrine takes in the warmth of the sun during the day, and at night, it slowly radiates this heat, which keeps the area comfortably warm. At night, the ingrained lines glow with a faint yellow light, and fireflies from the nearby Rexun River gather above the shrine.History
