Gilded Gnoll
The Gilded Gnoll, sometimes called just "the Gnoll", is a tavern in the capital city Endor, the First Mountain, in the Kingdom of Endor. It is owned and operated by Clan Frostbrewer.
It has been the most popular tavern in the city for many, many years, and is "known across the kingdom by reputation alone." Many adventurers and visitors to the city find their way through the open doors of the Gnoll.
Description
The Gilded Gnoll is a wooden building on the first level of Endor, the Ekrund Zorn, the Level of Stairways. It is just inside the Doors of Goldroar and is easily visible from the main roadway. The tavern gets its name from the large split wooden entrance door that is carved in the likeness of a snarling gnoll. The interior is a large, single room tavern with a horseshoe shaped bar at the back that extends to the center of the room, splitting the room roughly into two halves. The walls are decorated with rugged and rough décor items, such as antler mounts and taxidermized beasts. There are many round tables of different sizes throughout the main room. There are two wood-burning fireplaces at either side of the room and several hanging chandeliers. There is a small corner stage where musical performances are held. At the back right side of the tavern is a doorway leading to the alleyway behind the building. There are a number of lined up privies with a sewer drain set into the road. At the left side of the tavern is another doorway leading to a courtyard beside the Gnoll. There are stables and a separate multileveled inn building. There are stairways on the outside of the inn leading to the various levels. The keys have leather tabs with room numbers listed on them. The rooms are comfortable, with plush beds with icy blue sheets and wooden chairs with worn upholstery. The Gilded Gnoll is owned and operated by Clan Frostbrewer. Clan Frostbrewer imports hops from Burland, the Kingdom of the North, to brew the ales served here. The staff wear icy blue work uniforms with the emblem of the clan on each shoulder. In 5A 352 for Heroes Banquet, the tavern was decorated in green, red, and yellow streamers. The right side of the room was filled with long tables holding platters of food and large kegs of dwarven ale for the festival. For the Heroes Banquet, ale was free of charge for all patrons and food was complimentary for any who had rented rooms from the Gnoll. Other drinks could still be purchased as well. Around 5A 050, Petra D'Silva visited the Gilded Gnoll. Here, she intervened in an argument between a gnomish farmer from Lakanaba and a half-orc, which led to Petra's involvement with the Tribe of the Golden Fur gnolls in the nearby Gorl Forest. On 20 Sedaena 5A 178, Luyos met Thelman Krestwall at the Gilded Gnoll. They discussed a job posting from the Ritivan Cartographers Guild mapping the Galaz Forest before they departed. On 24 Felim 5A 352, the Lost Vessel Seekers visited the Gilded Gnoll for the Heroes Banquet. Here they met Maalik and would spend the night in the Gnoll's inn. On 9 Madaet 5A 352, Arwin rode by the Gilded Gnoll, which his companion Hummul Frostbrewer would point out to him.
