Report to Lady Olénie - The Diviner Fief

My lady, ahead of your first participation to the Council, here is a report on the Diviner Fief—or to go by his popular name, the Party Fief.

What is the Diviner Fief

Officially
One of the rare fiefs that welcomes all outsiders. The Diviner Fief lets anyone in provided that they can pay the entrance toll and still have enough money left to pay for things when inside.   People go there to party, to seek prostitutes, to watch big sport games or entertainment shows, to have a divination session, to play money games... Anything that is deemed "fun" by the general public is welcomed there.
Non-officially
The toll and the tax on ticket prices are not the only way the fief makes money. They have a bad reputation for taking adavantage of people and manipulating them into ruining themselves or even getting into debt. Then, they become indentured servants and put t owork until their debt is repaid.   The fief also deals in information gathered from intoxicated people, and they ressell them to those willing to pay the most for it.

Politics

Since the Lord Diviner came to power
The Fief used to be specialised in small metallurgy, but since its current lord came to power, its entire focus has been switched to supporting his claim towards Divination and in attracting people to his fief.   Immediately, they got well-known for not taking sides among the rest of the lords and ladies and for just caring about money. This allowed them to become central to the political system of the city and for becoming a pleasant alternative for neutral groung to the Council
Recent developments
In the past year, the Lord Diviner has been spreading the news about a vision he would have had, centered around Lord Adélème and how he would be the one who would make the ancient prophecy come true.   It is therefore now generally understood that he has lost all impartiality to become a supporter of the would-be emperor and that there is a risk of him manipulating any "divination" sessions and information he sells to fit his new ally's schemes.

Recommendations
If you have to deal with them, my lady, do not let them know any important information about our fief and never reveal anything you do not intend to become fully public among the entire city, no matter their promises.   Also do not attempt to play games with them or accept any of their bets. In fact, if you need any information from them, it is better to seek it from another lord or lady even if they themselves got it from the Lord Diviner and will ask for an extra fee from you.

Definitely do not want to go there. I know I'd accidentally end up in debt somehow.

Not D&D exactly, but I think I'll give them some board games that mix magics in a kind of yu-gi-ho way, but because it uses magic not everyone has the skills to play. And it also involved a huge amount of betting and is a great way to lose all your money D:   Thanks for your comment <3
