Kethalios Blackhorns
Kethalios Blackhorns was a Minotaur Cleric of Baphomet who won the right to the title of Emperor of Minostal in 1080 SKR. His uncle, Sklirios Bloodheart, the head of the Bloodheart clan, raised him in Baphomet’s ways, despite his gentle parents, Eleos and Kalosyne Blackhorns and their secret worship of Bahamut. After the birth of his little brother Natharios, Eleos and Kalosyne left him and fled to Aldorath. Sklirios, Kethalios, and a group of Baphomet worshipers pursued, catching up with them close to Seowyn's Crossing. It was Kethalios who slew his mother, without hesitation, for her apostasy. As they searched for the infant Natharios, however, a group consisting of Abbot Justan, Brother Jacoby, Brother Teodorus, and Brother Candus met them and fought them off.
The group fled north into Gristamere. It was there that he found the Shifter Asha in the hands of Goblinoid slavers. He purchased her and brought her back to Manakos.
He won fame in the Great Games of Minostal, fighting alongside Asha and the other members of Baphomet's Horns. Eventually, he claimed the crown of Emperor, and none stood to contest him. He declared that his coronation was to be held on the Feast of the Horned Lord in 1081 SKR, and it was an incredible celebration.
When the Fire Wasps arrived for the Feast, Kethalios was furious to see his younger brother, now a Cleric of Shandalene. Goaded by his uncle, he challenged his brother and the rest of the Fire Wasps to meet Baphomet’s Horns in the Great Games. When the Horns were defeated, he took Asha into the Labyrinth of Souls, hoping to destroy his brother there. When his forces fell, however, rather than be captured, killed, or forced to surrender, he dropped his crown and dove into the depths of the Abyss.
After his plummet into the Abyss, Kethalios was seized on and tortured by his patron, Baphomet. Desperate to redeem himself and to be victorious in his battle with his brother, he wagered all on a desperate ploy. Baphomet transformed him into a terrible Goristro, and he sought once again to destroy Eustace, who now called himself Natharios, his proper minotaur name. In this endeavor, he joined the cause of Rigel ap Balorann, who wished to punish the Fire Wasps for their love for their friend, Kidalis Havengard. In the battle against Dame Rigel, Kethalios was banished twice from the battlefield by Natharios, so his vengeance remained delayed.
Finally, when the Fire Wasps entered the Abyss to help discharge Naali Chamond's debt to Dispater, Kethalios entered into a final ploy against his brother. He used the powers of the Yugoloth Flevenshyre to warp time in order to cost the Fire Wasps time in dealing with the Tarrasque then attacked. Natharios begged his brother to turn away from the path of vengeance, but, in the end, he was forced to slay him. His demonic essence was dispersed through the Abyss, finally ending his life for good.
