Night 3

by Ralsei Dreemurr

We arrived at our location very late into the night, a large tower with several guards. Red and I climbed through a window to enter the tower undetected. We figured that the person we were looking to negotiate with was at the top floor. But by now, we were both unable to talk, else the guards would hear us. Red went for the doorway, but I took a look around the dimly-lit room and to my surprise, I noticed the mask we had seen earlier...
It was right in front of a window, floating there. Curious, I slowly walked towards it. Red noticed me walking in that direction, but didn't seem to see the mask. Probably for the best...
Once I was close enough, I lightly touched the mask. It was colder than ice, even though the night was fairly warm for an autumn night. It then disappeared with the same shadow-step spell. I reeled back in shock, and as Red helped me regain my balance, we heard two people talking in the next room.

Apparently, we were too late. Another person had entered the room and begun a conversation with our target. I sneaked to the doorway entrance, but Red walked right in on the conversation and pointed his gun at both people, with his dog barking and growling. I still do not know how the dog managed to climb that rope. I'll have to ask the dog about that later...

Next thing I knew, I heard a fight start, and I peered into the room to see the person we were to negotiate with be kicked by the newcomer, and sent tumbling off the balcony he was on, and into the moat. Hearing the cacophany, the guards came rushing up. I figured that Red could handle himself, so I quickly ran off before anyone else could see me. I looked back once, to see Red set fire to the place, and jump out of the window himself, and escape safely with his dog. After that, I just ran as fast as I could in a straight line (edited)
